How much better can you get than 1st?

They could have a 10 point lead and out of reach. For now they are within striking distance. See you get two points for each win and 1 for a ot(overtime) loss. If Panks was playing instead of sitting in the penalty box they coulkd be undefeated butsince they are all tough guys they are only 3 points ahead instead of 10 or 12.Thanks Panks for being a tough guy instead of a hockey player who is smart and doesn't sit in the box 5+ minutes a game.

Just to get my two cents in here. Panky is a player I would take in a heart beat. I would hope everyone would take him in a heartbeat. His style of play lends itself to the success he has had in this league.

I would hope that no educated hockey fan would look at a guy like Panky and say that he either "hurts his team" or "wouldn't be worth a spot". That is just flat out ignorant.

Eric Lindros takes a lot of penalties, would you take him? How about Jeremy Roenick or Keith Tkachuk? Gordie Howe? Are you saying that Brent Saperja was a determent to this team when he played here? I guess I am having a hard time following the argument here. Your point is based on the fact that Colorado isn't enough in 1st place? Your whole argument is so stupid it doesn't make any sense.

As far as the thread and reasons to bitch I posted this on another thread and was never responded to so I will post it here:

Quote:
Yes or No:

Joly should not be able to throw haymakers at our top scorer without any recourse?

Yes or No:

We should have more than two guys who are willing to throw the body?

Yes or No:

We should clear the crease and keep the other team from stabbing at our goalie while he is trying to secure the puck?

Yes or No:

Your best stay at home defenders in all of hockey play the body at the blueline and don't let players skate around to crash the while the d-men swipe their stick at them?

Yes or No:

Intensity on the ice by the team helps them win?

Yes or No:

A lot of people who come to the games are looking for rough stuff, pure and simple?

When you answer any of those no we will talk. Until then, enjoy your time on the boards.

I would take Pankewicz in a heartbeat as well.....I wouldn't trade Duda or Clayton for him just for sentimental reasons, plus those two are so good together, but I would trade Blaznek right now for him..... Very comparable players but Panks brings the toughness factor to the table... I love Blaz and that was one of the most lobsided trades for a team in the history of the CHL (Blaznek for Strome)...what a rip off for us, that has to rank #2 right behind David Shute for Jason Duda.....stay hot Sauter.

I would take him as well but he would be leading the league in scoring if it wasn't for all his penalties, most via the toughness route. Some teams win with toughness(Col.) and some don't(Wichita).

Sapergia was a detriment at the end of his career here. How many of you remember when the team had a vote during the playoffs during our second title run, as to whether or not to let Brent on the team bus late in the playoffs again San Antonio after Sac pulled some sort of nonsense.

Still, he was money to watch, the only guy I remember to get a goal and a rough at the same time (Scored a goal, then got the rough for attacking a Dallas Freeze player), the box read Goal - Sapergia @ 4:30, Penalty - Sapergia @ 4:30.

Oh and like GDogg and TFan, I'd take Pank in a heartbeat. You've got to take the bad with the good. There's an a$$load of good to go with a little bad.

Panky is the type of player who will actually back his shit up. He isn't afraid to drop the gloves. He is also a huge threat to all of the goalies in the league. He is one of the main reasons Colorado is as good as they are. Sure it is possible for a team to win the Cup without having a tough guy, but they are going to have a helluva time doing so. The new rules have barely changed the roughness of the league. You have to beat them on the scoreboard and in the alley. You can't put up points and have your stars get the shit kicked out of them, because that leads to injury. I know Duda won't drop the gloves, and Travis, he may have a lot of spunk, but he isn't someone who has the size and power to take on Goulet, Ewasko, Joly, or Panky. This team needs to start using the body and making some changes in the toughness department.

I guess that makes me a part of 95% of the people who post on here. Which includes you. I'm so happy.

Man you sure can get ridiculed for having an individual thought around here. I wonder if most people who post on here used to live in Iraq and aren't used to people having their own thoughts.

No, you get ridiculed for being a moron. It's pretty bad when the normal Gdogg kool-aid drinkers aren't backing you up. Maybe if you weren't such an obvious idiot, you might see that. But I guess when you've got your head up your ass it's hard to see much else.

Because my opinions aren't the same as yours that makes me a moron. Man this coming from someone I HAD respect for. We have had some discusions before BT on CHLFANS and I have always respected you and your opinions especially since you are in the guards I do believe but you of all people ridiculing someone because their opinions are different. I guess that makes us all morons because nobodies opinions are the same, that is why we are individuals.

Some of you people who post on here think your shit doesn't stink and that your the all knowing. I root for the same team, the same players, and want the same thing for this team, to win the cup. But to think that I root for the same team as some of you idiots who are so high on the horse that you get nose bleeds on a daily basis makes me sick to my stomach and almost makes me want to quite going to games and pull the sponsorship my company gives to the Thunder. But I'm a bigger person then that and love hockey and love watching this team so I wouldn't dare make the team suffer because some of you are idiots and are not open to discusion without having enough sense to understand that it's a sport not life or death and that this board is nothing in the realm of things but of course some of you losseres think it helps you be feel more important then you really are.

See you make quotes like this:

And it really makes everyone wonder. We won two CHL championships with the a couple of the toughest teams in the leauge. It doesn't make any sense.

Who would be a good example of winning the cup with absolutely no toughness?

You are entitled to your opinion in all but sometimes peoples opinions are just wrong. Kind of like Hitler, he had his opinions but they were not only stupid but very wrong.

Thta was then this is now. Like gas said it's a different kind of hockey today then it was 10 years ago.It also depends on what your opinion is on what toughness is.

The great thing about opinions is that to the person with the opinion its not wrong that is why it's an opinion and not a fact.

Don't compare a hockey forum to Hitler, not even close to the same thing.

A different kind of hockey? Laredo and Colorado... our 2 past champions had tough teams! Oklahoma City always had tough teams when they were winning championships. Doug Shedden brought toughness to Memphis and won there. I am sure Bossier had a lot of toughness when they won 3 in a row in the WPHL.

So exactly what is the difference?
