So I think this is the right place for this, but how do you let a guy know that you're only into him as a friend and you would prefer it to stay that way even if they want it to go further?

Politely, but firmly tell him the truth. He may be hurt, but in the long run he will respect your candor. If he can't deal with it, then you had no chance of being just friends anyway.

being open and honest is the best way to go. He might not want to be friends with you right away he may take time to need to let sink in that you are not interested in him in that way and if you just give him his time and space I am sure you and him will have a friendship.

Why do all you retarded women think a man would want to be your friend? Other than GayGuys/Biguys/Panwhatevers. We don't want to play golf with you. We don't want to go fishing with you. We don't want to go to the hockey game with you. We don't want to go to the bar and watch the playoffs with you. If there is nothing in it for us, we would much rather hang out with the guys.

Speak for yourself (as you normally do). I rather enjoy having my wife at the bar/hockey games/etc. with me. I wish she played golf. At least then I'd have someone to play with!

I assume you and your wife are more than friends. I love my wife and take her to the bar and to hockey games. That being said, I'm glad she doesn't want to play golf or go fishing with me. If we weren't more than just friends I probably wouldn't take her to the bar with me and I definately wouldn't have spent the $800 or so it cost me to take her to the three playoff games in Nashville last month.

i have known a lot of guys that like to have friends that are girls. They are not gay bi or what have you they just have gotten along well with both girls and guys. i have guy friends that I talk to hang out with ect. I think you are just closeminded to things that do not fit the norm and it makes it hard for you to see past the stereotypes of the male and female roles!
