Bandits Article....
| Quote: | BANDITS WIN THREE OVER WASILLA, WICHITA FALLS
The Bandits hosted the Wasilla Spirit for a two-game series this week and outscored them 10-0 in the series.
The back-to-back shutouts, Riley Gill's fourth and fifth on the year, brought his GAA down to 2.05, second in the entire NAHL, and his .931 save percentage also brings him up to second among all NAHL goalies.
On Tuesday, January 24, Aaron Lewicki scored his 18th goal of the season with 2:17 left in the first period off of a pass from Jason Weeks. Center Matt Zuke scored eight minutes into the second period when his wingers, Pat Knowlton and Graham Sisson, combined to feed him for his eighth goal on the year.
With 5:58 left in the second period Anthony Becker started a flurry of Bandit goals that saw the team score four times over the next five minutes and eighteen seconds. Casey Haines had a goal and two assists during that time, first teaming up with Justin Johnston to help Becker and then feeding the puck to his other linemate Pat Maroon for his fifteenth goal of his rookie campaign. Cody Donati scored the other Bandit goal, assisted by Nic Polaski and Kerry Bence.
Thursday night saw more of the same as Haines, along with linemates Becker and Maroon, opened the scoring nine minutes into the game and then Cody Donati, with his second goal in as many games, put in a rebound off a Polaski shot that followed a drive from the blue line from Tyler Trudell.
Donati returned the favor in the second period when he and Ryan Divito helped Polaski light the lamp for the ninth time this year.
Pat Knowlton added an unassisted goal 3:04 into the final period as the Bandits took a 4-0 victory and pulled themselves back into the battle for first place in the NAHL South.
The Bandits finished the week with a 5-1 triumph over Wichita Falls as Gill surrendered his only goal of the week midway through the first period. Lewicki had a pair of goals and Gill stopped 26 of 27 Wildcats shots on the night.
It was the fourth straight win for the Bandits, following four straight losses, and put them five points behind Texas for the top spot in the NAHL South Division.
