Best of Seven Format

It really grinds my gears each playoff series when they don't go the full seven games. If the Ducks win tonight then it is over, why don't they play the final two games. I want to know if the Ducks would win the final two and take the series 6-1. Or if the Senators would come back from down 4-1 and make it 4-3, Or if they split the last two and then it would be Ducks 5 Senators 2.

When a team is swept 4-0, I always think could they have gone on and beat the other team 7-0. Pisses me off also when one series is over 4-0 and they have to sit and wait for 6 or 7 days while the other series is tied 3-3. The teams in the 4-0 series should have to play out all seven games.

The real losers in all of this are of course us, the fans.

What possible reason could there be to do that?

Why risk getting somebody hurt? What's to stop a player with a grudge from taking a cheap shot on someone? I know that sort of thing never happens in the NHL. What motivation would there be for either team to play hard? It would be no different that watching a practice or a scrimmage. I sure would hate to pay Cup Final ticket prices to watch that.

Beat the other team 7-0??? There is such a thing as good sportsmanship, but apparently you don't have a clue about it.

Maybe they could bring aggregate scoring into the finals. Wouldn't that be intersting?

SPORTSMANSHIP???

First off, these are grown men, not a bunch of 7 year olds.

Second, If the series went seven games then we would get to see a lot more out of 3rd and 4th liners and maybe a couple of minor league call ups.

And last but not least it would be more hockey and more fighting for us fans to see!!!

Sportsmanship? Case closed!

Put yourself on the other side of your dumb fucking 0-7 rout... BEST of Seven...

And then there was the injury factor someone mentioned.

Yeah, I noticed that. I understand more hockey... but his thinking is asinine.

Sporstmanship? How would you feel if you were the one that lost 7-0? It wouldn't feel very good, would it?

No, probably wouldn't.

I do know a lot about sportsmenship though.

When I was 8 the hockey team I was on went on a road trip up to the Northern Peninsula to play in a tournament. We made pretty baskets and filled them up with the prettiest pinecones that we could find and we gave them out as gifts to all the other teams at the tourney. We were told that we were practicing good sportsmenship.

The next year in squirts our team went down to Detroit for another tourney and we hand knitted a bunch of doilies that were very pretty and gave them to the teams at the tourney. Very sportsmenshiplike.

Two years later we went up to Canada to a tourney and we made homemade chocolate chip cookies that we put into tins that were decorated with pink flowers and trimmed in frilly lace and we won the sportsmenship trophy!

The year after that we hosted a tourney and all of us bantams stayed up all night before the start of the tourney and made pretty jello salads with little white marshmellows floating in the top of the jello and even though we didn't win the sportmenship trophy this time because there wasn't one, we were told what good sportsmenshippers we were by ALL the other teams at the tournament.

We never did win a hockey game in all the years that I played hockey but at least I learned a lot about sportsmenship!

I hate to sound rude.....but..........exactly what gay-ass hockey team did you play for? That's not sportsmanship, that's trying to get a little ass off the other teams.

And since I didn't post about your first comment, who gives a shit if they win 6-1 or 4-3, THEY STILL WIN!!!! That would be like saying, "well, we know we won the game 7-0 at the end of regulation, but let's go into overtime anyway just for shits and giggles!"
