Blatchford wearing the 'C'

Okay-- did anyone else notice this? Was I the only one?

I just wanted to take a moment and recognize the fact that my favorite player was wearing the captain's 'C' on Saturday night in Wichita and how proud I am of him! I've watched the Tornado for three years now, and I've gotten to watch Blatchford evolve into a smarter, quicker defenseman. He shows patience and knowledge of the game-- he's got quick hands and quick feet, and I'm starting to see his power play quarterbacking just ramp up and lead the Tornado to great chances and shots on goal.

It's a treat to watch him play, and I just wanted to share my excitement. I know a lot of you could care less, but I'm so proud! I thought he would get it when we thought Train would be moving on, so it's so gratifying to see him sporting it (no disrespect meant to Train, who did lead the Tornado through all their past succeses).

I just think it's so great to see the player I saw so much potential in three years ago, start to come together as a fantastic player.

Blatchford and Train are Co_Captains. Brett is the away Captain and Tommy is the Captain at Home. I think this a great situation to put these two awesome players in!!!

I had a feeling that there was something I was missing.

I guess I just didn't notice when I went up to Texarkana, or something... or did this just happen?

You probably did not miss it in Texarkana. The last time we went to Texarkana, the Bandits were wearing their blue and red alternate jerseys, and the Tornado were in their white home jerseys, which means you probably saw Train with the 'C'. Saturday night was the first time we saw Blatch with the 'C' too, and I thought it was pretty awesome, as he certainly deserves it with his play the last year and a half.

Ah-- that explains it. They *were* wearing their homewhites up there in Texarkana. I still think I would have read something about it on the website, or had someone tell me this was happening seeing as I make it no secret he's my favorite player, haha. The thing is-- I've noticed Brett standing at the Ref's crease (among other things) so much I thought for sure that he was taking a much larger role in the team.

Yea for Brett and Tom! I hope they continue to lead the team to victory.

Better watch out if you support your favorite player by wearing his shirt some people (HOCKEYCHIC) might think you are dating him, and that you can't drink beer or swear at a game. :-D Sorry I couldn't resist

I know, but no one else seems to watch what they say about me or my friends who I sit with at the game.

I'm not too worried about what people think.

Besides-- Brett missed his chance (haha). I've got the most wonderful boyfriend in the world right now.
