Actually rap music is copied from early jazz .Just like other forms of music there are good and bad artist I guess it depends in who you like or your taste.An example I think Kiss was one of the worst rock groups I every heard but to others they love them.

I never said anything about censorship. My issue with rap music was outlined in an earlier post. There is no skill involved. Rappers are possessed of no musical ability. All they do is steal someone else's music and put their own words into it. When they can't think of anything to fit (largely due to poor vocabularies), they just start making up words. No skill.

I was merely taking issue with you saying that rap is just "social commentary". While I'm sure that some could be considered as such, the vast majority glorifies criminal behavior, and a negative attitude towards women. I would have thought that you were enlightened enough to understand that. Rather, you've shown that your hypocrisy is trumped only by your desire to argue.

FYI-While it's true that prostitution and therefore pimping have been around forever, it's only been recently that being a pimp is seen as desirable.

I do believe that people need to take responsibility for their own behavior. And I also think that rappers should start thinking about the message they're sending to kids who are living in the very same environments where they grew up, before encouraging violent behavior and loyalty to one's gang. But, hey... What's another dead kid as long as the person doing the drive by bought the album, right?

1) saying rappers have no musical talent is the most ridiculous thing you;ve posted in this thread. some aren't overly talented, but to judge all of them and stereoptype them based on your obvious negative bias toward the genre is totally ridiculous
