You mean if I give away all my money I won't be able to eat enough to be fat? Let me tell you though. I have been on a diet for 2 weeks ( no beer and mostly fruit and vegetables) and lost 15 pounds.

I do it regularly. I'm an addict, once I start eating I can't stop. Seriously, I am either losing or gaining everyday. I don't think I have stayed the same weight for more than a few days since about 1985.

we are reaping the results of decades of racism. if only people like you would wise up we might be able to solve that problem. instead, all we get are people to blame for it.

Read the article. The people who graduated from that school in the past suffered far more racism than there is now and turned out great. They weren't allowed to be thugs. They weren't excused for bad behavior because they were dark.

I wonder if the people who graduated from that school in the past could cross a Street on their own.

The other day, BanditBabe and I were walking around this little OSU Extension Campus they have here in Tulsa. The main little road that runs through it is a whole 2 lanes wide with a 10 mph speed limit. Even still, once we were within 10 feet of the curb, some delivery guy practically slammed on his breaks and even though I waved him on (we weren't even sure we wanted to cross) he wouldn't move untill we did.

If swear, if I ever have a business where I'm interviewing some College Kids, the first thing I'll ask is, "Can you cross a Street by yourself?"

the white students had to put up with a few years of being harrassed by other strudents because of the race. black people haver suffered racism from every level of american society at the hands of white people for centuries. not quite the same thing, fred.

it figures that being nice enough to yiueld for pedestrians would be some sort of character flaw in your warped world.

What the heck does the few white students have to do with the article?

"Success stories among its alumni include Thurgood Marshall, Cab Calloway, as well as several judges, congressmen and civil rights leaders. I guarantee you that if Douglass High student test scores of that earlier era were available, they wouldn't show today's achievement gap. Also, a 1940s or '50s Douglass High graduate would find no comparison between student behavior during their school years and that shown in the documentary. "

All these people graduated from there when there was far worse racism than there is now. How did they turn out good when the kids that go there now can't?

Yes, I do see stopping and holding up a line of 20 Vehicles for one Pedestrian to be less than Brilliant. While it may have been Courteous to ONE pedestrian, it is Discourteous to the MANY vehicles on the road behind you.

However, it figures that would completely fly about a million miles over the tip of the Dunce Hat perched upon your Warped Head.

campuses have rules about vehicles yielding for pedestrians. of course you you sound like you wouldn't know much about what goes on in any educational facility.

is walter saying that there are no kids graduating from that school who go on to do anything with their lives. or is he saying that the 40's and 50's students were all thurgood marshall;s and cab calloway's. i'd bet that there are probably 2-3 rap stars for every cab calloway. and no black kid these days wants to end being clarence thomas.

I'm totally aware of it. And thats the problem. Schools are very good at teaching kids that Pedestrians have the Right of Way, when they should be teaching them to carefully look both ways before crossing the street.

Probably more like 20-30. It actually took Talent to be a Cab Calloway.

i'm sure they were still teaching "look both ways before crossing the street" at the college you attended, but most kids learn that at home BEFORE they start elementary school. did the public schools have to teach your kids that lesson or did you beat it into them yourself.
