So in any case, I'm still waiting for Mr. Smackles to inform us why he wanted someone's career to end. Especially someone he probably never even met a single time.

You're not the slightest bit curious as to his motivation for that one?

No, we really don't care. I took it he just didn't like the kid as a player when he played for Danville, and didn't care if his career ended or not. You may have reached a different conclusion than I did, but that's OK too.

Well, then there are only 2 of us who care. Feel free to ignore our posts until such time as Mr. Smackles supplies us with that requested answer.

Fair enough?

I have a vested interest in his answer, or else I wouldn't have inquired in the first place.

I certainly didn't arrive on this board to sit here and squabble with you over nothing. lol

If you'd like to debate something while we wait for Smackles, pick a topic.

A man after my own heart. Please give me your opinion on jr hockey in general, the future of the nahl and what it needs to do to compete with the ushl, the ejhl which is going to continue to take players from the na and in some cases the ushl. What do you think about 16 year olds making the decision to go to the chl and passing up the opportunity to play college hockey. I could go one forever, but i'll stop there. Pick a topic and i will respectfully respond, as long as you do.

Who in the hell are you to demand an answer?

He has his opinion - and you have yours.

Get the fuck over yourself.

I think it can be a great way for younger players to hone their skills before attempting to enter their chosen hockey venue, be it NCAA, IHL, etc., as far as that benefits his hockey career in the respect of chasing his hockey dreams.

This is a tough question for me to answer without enough practical research on the topic, specifically. To answer the question as I would in a relevantly applicable business situation, the answer to increasing the competitiveness of your product lies with the ability of your leadership teams to place individuals in positions in their organization where their own unique influences can cast shadows larger than that of normal men. Leaders need to find ways to succeed, and that starts with a solid marketing plan and a team of individuals at the top of the organization all leading towards the same goal.
Beyond that, it obviously is going to require that which hockey fans pay to not only SEE, but EXPERIENCE when going to a "non-NHL hockey game" and that is skill, intensity, and personality on and off the ice.

Can 16 year olds do that without a high school diploma? I'm not aware of the academic or age restrictions for the CHL, sorry. I can say that college hockey is high-skill and high-visibility for the players on teams such as Minnesota, Colorado College, NDSU, MN State that annually contend for spots in the Frozen Four and/or NCAA Championship.
I also know that some players aren't going to be academically as capable as others to handle college life, college-level classes and the various pressures associated with being a student-athlete today.

First of all, you loudmouthed prick, I didn't DEMAND an answer. I ASKED him why he felt a certain way.

Second of all, if you don't like it, you can go fuck your mother or you can just pretend you didn't read what I wrote, but either way, why don't you do us both a favor and mind your own goddamn business.
At least I had a REASON for venturing MY opinion on this thread, you hypocritical heap of trash; unlike you, who felt as if he needed to step in like some cyber-bully and dictate the nature of the thread.
I have news for you, chief. I do what I want, when I want, and where I want to do it, and this is where I'm choosing to do this. Don't like it? I couldn't possibly give two greasy shits less so stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Ok. So far nobody but Smackles has posted their very own complaints about him. So unless you are gonna voice your own complaint you need to sit back and let Smackles defend his opinion himself.

And, unless you haven't noticed, that's exactly what I'm doing.

Any comments on my somewhat longer post concerning my response to tnado?

Everyone on here is entitled to his or her own opinion and shouldn't have to answer why they feel that way. Smackles obviously didn't care for the player he commented on. Why should he have to "defend" his opinion? There are players in every league that opposing teams and their fans can't stand. Maybe this kid was one of those, who knows.

He doesn't HAVE to defend his opinion. He has the opportunity to if he so chooses.

I merely asked him if he would. And you're right; he is under no obligation to respond at all, let alone answer.

Again, I merely found it CURIOUS that he despised someone enough to remember his name 10 years later and he only played 2 seasons for that team, and it wasn't even in smackles' listed homestate.

Just curious. No reason to blow it out of proportion at all..

Was there a big rivalry between Danville and Springfield back then?

Why do we have to keep going on and on about this? Do we have nothing better to do with our time????????

You are correct everyone is entitled to an opinion and this IS a blog board for conversation correct? All evil was doing was asking what in particular made Smackles not like these 2 players ( I will admit I had to get my jab in, but hey, this is Hockey we are talking about).

Why don’t we just wait and see what his answer is, if he wishes not to comment then that’s fine, but having others attack the issue not directed at them is just silly.

They had a couple of enforcers that would go at it every time they were on the ice. I'm not sure if it was a big competitive rivalry as much...

Ohhhhhhhhh you have no idea!

When ever Danville and Springfield played each other it was like boxing on ice. Very good games, and usually a victory for Danville.

Then again the Wings were all Danville had back then. Now that they are gone I wonder what the people in that area do for fun

Now see this may be one of the reasons Smackles feels the way he does. With intense rivalries comes intense emotions and feelings. The player in question must have been one of Danvilles better players or their enforcer. He made an impact on some level.
