Much has already been written about this incident... Radke came from the tunnel to engage Vossberg.

It is really interesting, the way our minds work. When Vossberg was in the NAHL, playing against the Cats, He was one of the hated players. I didnt like him although I thought he was one of the best players to play in the league. But as time goes on and these KIDS go to college, I want all of them to be successful. Maybe excep for former TT adam Flink who I think I hated more than any other player. No I even would like to see him succeed. I think we fans get more out of liking or hating players than the players themselves do. When it comes down to it though, their success is a result of plaing in the NAHL. And for the record, when I say hate, it is usually because they have more success against us than other players.

This year I have noticed and watched Cardwell and Roadhouse waiting to get the call from the ref. They talk and laugh as if they are good friends, and maybe they are. But the point is Roadhouse is one of the hated in WF.

Maybe I am changing or just having a stroke, but all of these yopung men deserve our support and good wishes for their success. This is only a stop on their journey.

Way to show class Vossberg and hope you have continued success.

IIRC, Vossberg scored four goals against WF in his first game with the Cavalry - at the KYC. That was an up and down wild game that I think we lost 6-5. I'd have to check, but I still have my audio saved on a disk somewhere.

Lone Star Cavalry, wow that seems so long ago. i went to one game at the Blue Line and froze my fat ass off. Went in thinking it would be like the KYC, nice and cozy for the fans. I think the thermostat in the hall way right outside the ice was set on 48. I remember thinking Vossberg will be in the NHL in a few years. Hope it works out for him.

There's really only two players from the NAHL that I absolutely despise and would like to see nothing short of their careers ended and that was Joe Fiebiger from Danville and John Pyrek of the old Sting.

As far as I know they never went on to do anything afterwards.

But yeah now if I'm bored at the beginning of each hockey season, I'll go through a bunch of leagues pro and college and look for players from the NAHL that I remember. It's fun seeing these kids move on but its also equally disheartening when you realize that after college -- a lot them didn't make it any sort of pro level. Though it's friggin exciting when you do find someone. Like I was just looking at the ECHL all-star rosters yesterday (granted its been a month since the game has been played) and yeah, I kind of figured Greg Rallo would be there but when I saw Andy Contois there, I about shit a brick. It's great to see him still in pro hockey.

The Blue Line is now known as the NYTEX and is the home of the Texas Brahmas( CHL). At a recent game the arena temp at puck drop was 36 degrees. Having watched Midget Hippy play there several times this year, I do not doubt that in the least.

As for Vossberg and the 4 goal game, if memory serves, 3 of those goals were on slap shots from the top of the circle. I believe that I mentioned elsewhere that Kent Detlefson ( also # 27) reminded me a lot of Vossberg as far as his slap shot was concerned.

So, Smackles, what didn't you like so much about Joe Fiebiger? He was a great talent and only at his choosing did he not further his hockey career. His options were open to him.

From what I heard, Joe Fiebiger kicked the crap out of half your Springfield team and left them for dead on the ice. LOL

No wonder you're so pissed off at him. He probably beat up your big brother or something.

;-)

Yeah, I would say that sounds about right Evil.

This Smackles guy must be really bitter to not only bring Fiebiger up after 10 years but to remember how to spell his damn name??????? Maybe good old #25 turned him down when he asked for a date, or even better........Maybe he dated Smackles mom.

Hey, TwistedSister, didn't Joe room with a guy named Roper??

I'm gonna call Joe tonight and ask him.

I wish there was video online of him thrashing Mike Sgroi repeatedly. How funny would THAT be to watch after all this time??

He lived with him, yes. They had host families while in Danville.
May not be the same "Roper" though.
