What a difference a month or more makes. I added team +/- to the formula.

How do you compile your rankings? I am just wondering since it seems all of the rankings that I see are always a little different...

its a very complex formula....it involves a hat, several pieces of paper with team names, a cat named Fluffus Maximus, a box of catnip, a bottle of wine, a drunk Huugo, a bottle of Blue Agave God necter, one drunk Jonlarz and a little luck.

Oh, I think they will be due for a blow up pretty soon. Kind of like GR. Short spurts of good, followed up by long spurts of bad.

They may blow up (I actualy predict a loss to Tulsa on Christms night) but they have been on fucking fire for the last 13 or so games. Not to mention, they've been entertaining. Playing a full 60 minutes and playing it hard. Extrememly physical and taking no shit from anyone. I think it's funny that nobody (other than GDogg) has given them much credit lately. They knock off the top 2 teams in the league (one being a long road trip away and then haul ass home to kick the holy hell out of the other one) consecutively and not a word about it. I kind of like the fact that most of you hate the Blazers organization so badly that it just eats at you when they do well.

But, I kind of agree a little with Gasmix. I don't see them being able to keep this pace up for the rest of the season.

No shit Beamer. So you are saying that you can be physical and at the same time win games. Whodathunk?

I don't know if they go hand in hand, but it sure seems to be working in this league. Look at Colorado: Leading the league in wins and also leading the league in PIMS. Next, Wichita: 3rd in the league in wins (having played 2 less games than the 2nd place team in wins) and 3rd in the league in PIMS. Oklahoma City: 5th in the league in wins (4th if you consider there is a tie for 3rd) and have played 3 less games than the 2nd place team in wins and one less game than the 3rd place team. Also, take into consideration that those three teams listed above are playing in the toughest division.

Something else that seems more than coincidental is that when the Thunder were winning at will, they played a different game. More of an in your face, take no prisoners kind of game.

Another point (Somebody will bring this up)...The Blazers started the season off going 1-6 while having alot of PIMS. They were losing those games by one goal. They were competitive. I think that had they rolled over and played soft, they'd have been blown out in a few of those.

Something to think about. Seems like some of the better teams also have quite a few PIMS (odd, huh?). There's exceptions, as there always will be but it looks like there is some connection.

Someone will work the numbers to prove this wrong and that's fine. It just seems to me that at this level, a tougher style still works.
