Clayton and or Duda?

I'm mixed on this one.

Given the proper support staff I still think they can put up great numbers.

But

They are both getting older and Duda was hurt alot last year, and I still Think the Thunder need a fresh start with all new Vets. I think the Thunders lack of scoring last year wasn't the players trying to score it was the forwards having to assits the D-men way to much and had no break out or legs left. It is hard to score when you play defence your whole shift except the last 15 seconds.

Clayton kind of flopped last year without Duda, but again see previous statment.

I still think they can be point a game guys with help.

hurt or not or capable of great numbers, think time for duda to walk away before a serious injury occurs. Sooner or later that turtle crossing the highway gets ran over by a semi.

And yes it takes all to perform--and this could go either way but if only one i say bring clayts back and let duda step down and bring in not only some new young talented players but definately some better vets.

Would at least sign one vet Dman if not two. Everyone knows that has been our problem lately.

i too think Duda should hang em up. And IMHO if clayton cant put up descent numbers "without" his little sidekick he might as well hang em up too.

I think Clayton should be invited to camp but has to earn a roster spot.

Like all camps , they should at least make them EARN a spot on the team. Laughing Nothing good can out of just handing a player a spot because he has been around, ask the Kings and Parsons & Landmeister. Rolling Eyes

That's the point K70! they both have been walking thru seasons out of shape and have had little interest that I can see.

Dump and rebuild for the sake of mankind.I can't watch monkeys fucking each other at the blue line for another year while the other team scores short handed.

didnt the Blunder set the record last year for that?

ill only 1/2 agree with you ES.... Duda has always looked slow and out of shape of late. Clayton on the other hand has probably been our best conditioned player for years. Always shows up to camp in great shape so undoubtedly he keeps things in check in the offseason.

Parson started to slip a little in the latter years.... but hey i got to give it to Landmesser the guys still brings an "A" game everytime i see him play. Would love to have him here in ICT.

You say earn a spot?

How many extra vets do most teams have come in, I can't ever remeber any in the Thunder camps.

So that thinking is not very probable.

At the CHL level the 4 Vets are supposed to be the "money players", as in the guys a team can count on night after night for scoring when they need a score, or stopping the other teams go to guys and most importantly they need to be leaders. If Clayton and Duda still fit all of those roles, as they have very well in the past then by all means bring them back, but if not, it's time to let them go and bring in some new veteran players that can.

Wasn't that long ago, last time we actually had a good defencesive crew, a coach with a a real game plan and a winning record vs Colorado. Alot of those names are still playing that are listed UNDER Duda and Clayton.

Why would you trade a good player that can score, just because he likes to bang off the ice?

Not reliving just stating when a good "system" or game plan is installed with decent D-men they can have the roon and time to do great things. I still think they can but I'm not sure I want to take the chance if I was signing the checks.
