Do or Die Time For Stars

Well the Stars are in another 3-1 hole. Kind of hard to say what will happen tonight other than Dallas needs to find a way to win and score more that 1 or 2 goals. Anyone else have any thoughts about tonight's crucial game five?

I was at the Stars game Tuesday and they really looked flat for most of the game. If they get themselves in gear tonight they can beat the Canucks and I gotta believe that they will NOT lose three in a row at home. Watching the Penquins Ottawa game right now looks like the Penquins are gonna play golf after tonight.

Stars live to play on Saturday! Morrow scores in OT to win 1 - 0.

The fact that two of the five games have gone to OT and ALL the games have been won by one goal shows that both teams play tight defensive styles and the goalies are the real stars of this series.

It also shows that the Dallas snipers have all but vanished during this series too. Sad

If the Stars take this series, it will be because Turco kept them close enough in each game to win. The prospect of facing the Dead Things in the next round is NOT pleasant. Mad

G-M-- agreed. Checking out Turco's stats for the series: GAA- 1.38 and save % of .949 . Both better than during the regular season. Also consider : 3 shut out periods in Game 1, a regulation shutout in Game 2, a regulation and OT shutout in game 5. Turco has been doing his job. The problem is with the Stars offense. In the 2-1 loss in Game 4, Modano had a whopping 1 shot. Dallas still has their work cut out for them, but if they fall, it would be unfair to lay all the blame on Turco. Last year, maybe. This year, no.

Stick a fork in Dallas. Lets get round two under way no need to keep the Sharks waiting.

Thanks hip...that is one thing that drives me nuts...Everyone want s to jump on Turco but he has kept them in this thing. Offense needs to be looked at. How much does Mikey Mo get paid? If you look at that stas from last years playoffs it shows the same thing...but it was Turco's fault. Im sorry losing games 2-1 isnt always the goalies fault!

Turco comes up huge for Dallas with his 3rd shutout of the series. Zubov and Morrow hurt. Modo with the GWG. Back to Vancouver for #7.

Don't know about Zubov. he missed most of the 3rd.

Morrow got slashed in the back of the leg by Burrows. Morrow then skated over to the bench on one leg and face washed Burrows before leaving the arena. A lot of times the slash to the back of the leg causes a burning sensation up the entire leg, or causes from the knee down to go numb. How serious? Hopefully not very.

That Morrow thing looked like it could be pretty bad. I was wondering if that was the same leg he injured earlier in the year

What pissed me off about the Morrow slashing was that NO PENALTY was called! WTF are TWO refs watching for crying out loud???

Morrow has already said that he's ready to go tonite. Methinks he'll be playing with a burr in his saddle too. Turco has played an outstanding series but has not had much offensive support (see previous posts by others...)

Article on Fox Sports says that Marty could be on the way out if Stars lose this series. Not fair!!!

Pretty good article. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18275628/

Hope the Canucks keep that streak going........ Very Happy

"While the Stars try to make history, the Canucks hope to avoid repeating it. They haven't scored since winning Game 4 to lead the series 3-1, and have lost their last two Game 7s on home ice, including one against Minnesota in 2003 that completed another collapse from a 3-1 series lead."

Here's the link for the Fox article I mentioned earlier. According to reports, it came from the Dallas Morning News.
