I wonder if there are the statistics for the race of the people defaulting on their loans in the last year or so. I know there are far more in those "target areas" around here.

Are you talking about individuals defaulting or the big mortgage houses going bankrupt? My guess would be that the CEOs of Bear Stearns, Countrywide, Freddie Mac, and Fannie Mac are probably of the Caucasian persuasion.

Are you retarded? I am not for bailing out the mortgage companies or the people who took a mortgage for more than they could afford. I am totally against the law that lets people borrow way more than they can afford and then declare bankruptcy also. The idea that you should be able to buy a house, car, boat, or anything with no money down is just assinine.

maybe the feds should give each of us a personal budget that we are required to follow. i mean, you know, if they're going to be in charge of our financial lives like fred wants.

I just got approved for $160,000.00 loan for a new home with no money required down. (upon saleing my current home) so if they want to hand it out I'll be more than happy to respect them and take it!

If for some reason you lost your job the day after you bought it or got hurt and couldn't work and had to sell the 160,000 house. Would you be able to come up with the money it would cost?
