Dumb Queestion

I was watching the Av's vs Penguins game a few days ago. Were the Pittsburgh goalies pads brown like they wore in the 70's? or were they just that light yellow color that is part of the Pens uniforms? I was watching the game on an older color tv and it was hard to tell.
