Best series in the history of the game???? Rolling Eyes

Believe it or not Topeker fans, there have been great series in hockey before this five game homestand. Laughing

Life will be a shock to those who venture beyond the confines of the Kansas wastelands and come to civilization to see the Nationals. Our Zamboni actually works, as does our power. Here is a link to help all of you. http://www.robertsoncup.com/

I can only imagine 50 Topeker fans huddled around the only computer at the local library reading all of this......

Good luck to all 4 teams, but my Bandits will prevail. From what I hear, this will be a first class event, held at a hockey rink, not a rodeo arena. It will be a great week. Cool

Never been to Topeka have you. I can tell by your comments that they answer is no. Topeka has a hockey arena, not a rec center trying to pass as a hockey arena. We have traveled to many places in the NAHL and Topeka is one of the best in the league, definately better than what St.Louis has by far. Topeka also supports the team as a community. This shows as Topeka is 4th in attendance. I'm not even sure that the St.Louis rec center could even hold the attendance that Topeka has drawn this year.

Well, I might agree it was good, it's not the best in the history of the game. But topcityaircaphockeyfan is entiled to their own opinion.

As far as St. Lou's comments, I will agree it's the Bandits too lose. But don't think you have it clinched just because you are at home or just because you simply won the regular season title.

That's why they play the games.

Your comments are off-base about Topeka, but I would expect that from a Missourian.

Bitter pills are hard to swallow in that state.

ksexpo.com, and you'll see Landon Arena is not a rodeo arena. The Domer Livestock Arena is on the Expocentre grounds, that must have been the mix-up. Smile

Glad you have a real arena, I'm thrilled for you. Can't wait for the second shift at Wal-mart to get off so we can hear others from Topeker about their local pride. Very Happy

My point though is the hockey world doesn't revolve around Topeker as some have suggested by placing their 5 game homestand as the greatest of all time. Rolling Eyes

Topeker will be a worthy opponent for my Bandits though. I will be sure to bring a pillow so I can sleep through the boring times of their snoozing trap.

One thing must be said, if the Topeker folks think their Roadrunners are exciting, they will love the "other" games where teams don't sit and wait like their RR's do. I think for those of you who come, you will enjoy the hockey and the extras around the games. You might even venture down to our big horse shoe in downtown St. Louis. Just follow the signs to "Gateway Arch". Wink

Ah, St. Louse, about the comment about you have made about having power in your fair city, let's relive this great moment in its history from 2006:

http://www.usatoday.com/weather/storms/2006-07-20-st-louis-storms_x.htm

Yep, it was a fine moment.

Anyway, it was a great series, but one of the best is a touch over the top.

And we all still await the people of Illinois to one-up you and build the giant statue of a person with a croquet mallet and ball across from your beloved arch. Otherwise, it's much better to bypass your downtown on I-270.

I spent 5 nights sleeping or sweating as the case maybe outside on my deck, please don't make me re-live that nightmare. Have you seen the representation of the Arch that looks like building plans that show it as a very large and mostly buried clothes hanger? The large croquet wicket...now that is another funny visual.

Obviously the RR are a very good team and although I didn't get to see much of them this year, I saw more than I cared to last year. Laughing McT and Bucket have been great to exchange online hockey talk with for the last two years. I look forward to seeing them again this week. Lets meet in the A B beer tent for an iced tea or two. The Mrs.

Sorry to make you relive the nightmare, Target Dad--but it was an easy response to one of St. Lou's comments.

I hope I can get over for some of the tournament, because it should be a great week for NAHL hockey.

typical Missourians, I'm surprised you could even read this. But if you go back and actually read, I said one of the best. And you can take your Hardee's Iceplex and bite it. That city had to steal a team from Topeka to get hockey in the first place and they even thought it sucked, and then they folded. Then you stole a team from Texarkana. Sorry to sound like a jerk but you want to mess with best, you get dissed like the rest.

Nope, arrogance is when you call a five game homestand "the best series in hockey history."

I didn't steal anything. I just go and watch. And to call your 5 game homestand "one of the best in hockey history" is like calling the Republican Presidential Race a "close contest." But coming from Topeker, I can understand it. After all, what the hell else is there to do in Topeker??? Going to watch the corn grow? After my Bandits skate off the ice Sunday with the Cup, I will probably go to the Cards game or a million other truly entertaining things to do here in the Lou. Hope the winter wheat comes in soon, will give you something to do. Until then, don't act like the RR's are the center of the hockey world. Just another Junior team with a kooky owner and a boring trap. Yawn.

Never said they were the center of the hockey world, just that they've played some good hockey in a tough league with some really close games. Oh, and btw it's Topeka, i know it's hard for you Missourians to spell but you can at least try. Oh and Topeka may not have much to do but I'd rather sit at home than watch National League baseball.

In St. Louse's case, entertainment in his fair city is noodling in either the Missouri or the Mississippi . . . which may explain a lot . . .

Hmm the only game I think I'm going to get down to see is the Bandits v Runners....judging from this, might be the best.

Haven't been to Topeka but I love both of St Louis's rinks. *shrugs* Though we'll be traveling to Topeka next season, depending on how the schedule works out. Watch the NAHL screw up and we don't play each other....a lot of unhappy fans on both sides that'll make. But yeah, I'll be the outside judge next season on who's got the better rink.

Either way, they both trump ours.

Now wonder which side I'm going to have to sit on come Friday.

IDK, everytime I talk to a Topekerin, they say they are from Topeker Kansas. I don't understand why they pronounce it with a R but I was just trying to speak your language. You know, just trying to dumb it down for you. When I am speaking to someone who thinks their 5 game homestand is one of the best series of hockey history, obviously.... I need to dumb it down. Shocked

St Lou. You’re a heavy set, very grotesque individual. Please stop talking. It gets so old to hear your demeaning remarks. Go see Jenny and come back when you support the game the way it’s intended to be supported. I wouldnt need to bring up your offensive looks, if you wouldnt feel you had to make fun of so many people. OH! jenny's last name is Craig

Hey does this mean that they will learn how to turn the oversized space heaters on in the stands. I have been there 4 times and so they hadn't figured that out yet. Even the Bandits fans were wrapped up in blankets during the game and leaving the arena during intermission to warm up.

That's fine Lou, spout off, I could give two shits whether or not you like Topeka or whatever town you speak of..

Enjoy the Robertson Cup, enjoy hockey, enjoy seeing these young men playing a game they love.

That's what this is all about anyways.

Not someones grossly one-sided view of the world.

Lou, I've got no beef with you, I hope you have fun this weekend.

I hope someone fixed the big hole in the road going to the rink. I think we lost a car in it last year when we were there.
