I'm uncomfortable with signing Devo. I'm just afraid he'll lose it, and rip someone a new ass and go psycho on the ice. Then, the team will be short a player for so many days. Hell, I don't know.

Do you personally know Devo persona? If not what makes you think he would go psycho. Is it by just looking at him? IF so good that's what we need.

There's no point in getting the run around by the front office there's a legit tough guy IN wichita. All we are saying is give him a 5 game tryout. IF he screws up or isn't up to par like french wants then get rid of him.

Let's see here Boxing rink with gloves and protective helmet, and an Ice rink with skates on bare knuckle no protective helmet. This guy is a joke, Toughman Comp. is the Junior hockey league of Boxing. Here is my two reasons not to sign him.

1.) The thunder wold be the laughing stock of all CHL.
2.) Wasn't it just a week and a half ago that most thunder fans were pissed about the way OKC gooned it up? And now you want this, let's not be hypocritical.

My explanation on #2 is let's not just get someone because who is roided up and willing to fight. Let's get someone who can play his position well and still stand up for us if need be. Other teams in the league are not going to be afraid of Devo, period, don't sign him.

GOOD LORD,

You know your spelling is bad when Thunderstruck is thinking about making fun of you for spelling.

1. Why would the Thunder be the laughing stock of the CHL? Because they would have the toughess player? I guess I don't understand your reasoning.

2. We can't control if OKC is going to goon it up or not, the question is how are we going to respond, Typical Thunder thinking is to roll over and take it in the ass and hope your on a power play or you sign someone that is tough enough to stick up for your stars.

I guess I don't understand why you think he would be the toughest player? Because he compete's in Toughman Comp.? Come on get real, this guy is a joke. Get off Devo's dick and put the crack pipe down.

T-Bag

You might try if your able, to read the whole thread. There are many good points and opinions why Devo could help this team.

ok i'll try this one more time. the difference between bain & Devo. Bain is a forward Devo is a" defenseman" he wasn't that great of a player back when he was a player. now he's older & yes he's a tough SOB. but he's OLD! if Bain misses a play his position, the guy skates by him to a defender. if Devo misses a play in his postion, the guy skates by him to be one on one with our goalie. Devo's skating is going to make Fairbarn look like Esdale.

give him a 3 or 5 game tryout? that 6 or 10 points we are having a tough enough time getting with young guys who CAN still play.
we need to worry about making the playoffs instaed of somebody to retaliate on fleck when he comes back.

Knowone has commented opn the Katzberg guy that played with Tetrault last year in New Mexico. was he worth a crap? he's in the SPHL playing right now not retired & trying to get back into playing shape so we could call him up to the CHL. anyone???

I have read the whole thread, and I think we came to the conclusion he can't skate. In case you didn't notice this is a hockey thread, and this is a hockey team we are talking about. People on the team need to know how to skate, and he does not. Okay, he can fight!! woohoo. Maybe what we need is for Duda and Clayts to sack up and take care of there own battles.

They shouldn't need to fight all of their own battles and risk getting hurt, we need them out there. It's just too bad there are idiots like Sauter and Fleck that roam this world. They both are a disgrace. After arguing that 10 game suspension, what a couple of fools, the tape doesn't lie, he should be feeling fortunate he only got 10. I say we sign Devo for 3 one game tryouts, all 3 against OKC.

I really like the way the site admin calls someone, a customer as you call them, a t-bag becuase they voice their opinion. No wonder most of the intellegent hockey discussion is going on elsewhere.

Devo probably can fight but hasn't put on a professional uniform in nearly 10 years. He can't skate very well in comparison to EVERYONE else in the league. We have enough terrible D-men and really don't need another. He would be a liability on the ice and could put us into a situation like OKC, down a man for 10 games because he can;t control himself. I know alot of you are friends with Devo but we really need someone who has skated professionally this decade in my opinion...Flame away admin

He can't skate? You must have just read a couple of post and not the whole thread. When he played here he was not a tough guy, but yet he was a good enough d-man to play pro hockey for 10 years. At 35 I'm sure he has slowed a step or two, I saw him at the pratices and I sure didn't think he looked out of place or slow like some on here has said.

Bain gets 2 or 3 shifts per night, I bet Devo came mustard up enough energy to do that also.

Joel ranked our toughness as our weakest thing about this team in a earlier thread, he also said we need a big d-man that will clear the front of the crease. DING DING DING

This is some funny shit! But wasnt Kuntz a D man? I guess I was just seeing things when he was playing a forward. Guess I had better get my eyes checked or is it only certain players can be moved back and forth. Got damn who would have thunk it?

Hey brian-27 do you think this had anything to do with my T-Bag commit?

ten years is a stretch don't you think

His 16-19 year old OHL stats are not exactly pro hockey

at best i'd say he had 3 years of pro experience. I have a hard time counting the other 4-5 years he was getting those 3-5 game tryouts and then getting cut. Also what makes you think he wasn't a tough guy then either? He was roided up and big then as well, just not very good. He hasn't done anything in the past 8-10 years that would lead me to believe his hockey skills have improved.

Yeap good point, I was counting his Jr.'s years also.

He wasn't very big when he played with us in 95-96, not sure when he added all of his size.

Couldn't agree more, but I would bet his toughness and strength has got alot better in the last 8 years. Is this thread about signing our next star player or a cement head that can police the ice for our stars?

I see you avoided my question so I will throw it out there again.

BIB, here is Katzberg's stats so far this year. I know at 24 I'd rather give him a try than Devo at what 65? http://www.floridaseals.com/scoring_stats.asp

203 pims in 28 games, looks perfect. Next problem, looks like he already has a job and is playing in sunny FL.

$$$ would probally be very close to the same, so why would he leave his job to come here?
