I am offering my most sincere appology to those of you who are disgusted by this. Let me just explain what exactly happened...

This man..whos daughter was apparently called a bitch..approached my mother as she was walking by in the rink. MY MOTHER did NOT call her such a word, and would never!! If any of you know Ima..she is 4'11, tiny, sweet as can be..she would NEVER do this! The man began yelling at my mom!

Now, for one, I understand that my name is very inappropriate. But I posted on this just for that guy to read..not any of you..and yeah its a public board. But I used this name just to get his attention..geeze if you wanna go so far as to accuse me of anything..call ME the bitch!

The low blows, accusations, and complaints can just stop, I agree that this is getting out of hand. To the sexist asshole, Master Blaster, I would hope to God if some man was verbally attacking your wife/daughter you would want her to go to the police! What nerve!

Basically all this just stems from the disrespect my mother recieved at Frisco. Ill stop here, but I would just like to remind everyone that no matter what team you cheer for, or where you are from..there is still such a thing as dignity and pride in yourself..and for most of us..the way we are displaying ourselves isn't something to be proud of.

You're right--there really is a difference. I have really enjoyed hockey since moving up here. The fans know the game and pay more attention to what goes on on the ice and not in the stands. It's fun to sit among people in the stands who really know the game and don't come to see who can beat the crap out of someone else.

The whole problem is not which team these fans are from but simply that they are not acting like adults and setting a good example for their children.

So, this will never be resolved. We each just need to respect the game and the players as best we can and leave the game on the ice!

First off, I realize that I do not "have a dog in this fight". But I would like to give a totally unbiased opinion of this thread, if somebody is not ok with that than please do not read it. A guy was under the understanding that his 12 year old daughter had been called a bitch and he chose to confront someone he thought either did it or was with someone who did it. I do not believe he randomly picked out somebody. The lady who was confronted had 4 choices as of what to do. 1. admit it and apologize. 2. deny it. 3. buy the guy a beer to get him off her back. 4. book it to the ladies room. Being as she claims she did not do it than obviously choice number one is out. Apparently she was pretty shook up and I respect that but in this situation I would have went for option number 3. For a lousy 5 bucks she would have got the guy off of her case. Now as for the other posters Sam, I agree with you but you ticked off folks by using the F word. Master Bllaster, that was totally uncalled for. Zany, I am glad you called Master Blaster on that. As it is, the fact that security diffused the situation by moving the gentleman probably was a good idea. Thank you for letting me give my take on the situation. - Hockey Girl

Sorry, I disagree with numbers 3 and 4. If the lady who was confronted wasn't involved in the incident, she doesn't owe a beer to someone who was verbally abusing her. If she bought a ticket to see a hockey game, she shouldn't have to hide in the ladies room because someone was in her face. I have had young and old fans in Dallas pointing and screaming in my face when the Tornado scored, as I am sure others have had in every other venue in the league. While the immature behavior should not be condoned in adults, adults encouraging their children to act like idiots is irresponsible parenting. This isn't limited to WF and Tornado fans. How you choose to respond to the problem determines whether it escalates out of control or dies an embarrassing death. Even the players get along off the ice. Just watch the game. Isn't that why we buy the tickets?

Now let me get this straight.

Some drunken fool starts trouble at a hockey game, blames you for something you didn't do, and the proper response is to buy him a beer?

Perhaps you should also provide him with a steak dinner and a limo ride to the five star hotel of his choice as well as an invitation to Christmas dinner.

I surmise that many hockey fans would have a more, shall we say, physical response to this gentlemans behavior.
