FROM THE OTHER BOARD
a thread calling for French's head I couldn't resist posting after reading some of the nonsense. Am posting what I worte here because imagine I might get edited (so they say) over there.

That's a load of crap!! The coach does a good job. It would be the players that are not going out there and playing a full game. The coach is doing his job. You need to give him some time he will get it going in the right direction. Maybe he is not as harsh as Laxdal, but I gurantee the guys like and respect him much better than they ever did for Laxdal. Just because we have lost doesn't mean we have to immediately give up on the coach.

what are you smoking?
whatever it is, you should pass it around and share it with everyone in the KC.
First and foremost, He's doing his job? hmmm first example. We are paying league minimum (at least) for a player to ride the pine for the last two months night in and night out. If Bain's lucky he gets one shift a game. Against Colo, 2 shifts = 1 fight he got beat. (one would have thought after sitting out so many shifts there would have been a different outcome for that. last night = NO SHIFTS!
So in this great coaching job he is doing how is that alone showing a stellar performance?
Where's the emotion? hmmm Friday night against the Eagles if it would have been Lax when the Thunder received all the BS calls against them, what do you suppose Lax would have done?
Stand there with his arms crossed shaking his head? I THINK NOT! The ice would have probably been litered with water bottles and a trash can or two. Sure for those of you who say what would that have proved, we would then had to finish the game without a coach, and for that small point you are absolutely correct. But it would have showed not only the players but the fans in attendance has well that he (French) was tired of the BS and if Bain ain't allowed to stick up these guys, he would do it (French). At least show your heart is in it.
Example number 2. Thursday night before a big game against Colo. where were the players? A couple of the Sheriffs I talk to told us where alot of them were. Drunk and at the NICKLEBACK concert. (because the thunder org. promoted their concert the players got in for free, supposedly)
Think Lax would have allowed that to happen? (the drunk part?) I think not. The leash would have been on, curfews set, and ENFORCED. Not saying was bad that the players were there just piss poor judgement in what they were allowed to do before a very important game.
Example 3---This is the team we started with pretty much for the whole We sat on these guys and no changes at all were made until recently. Thats BS. Always room for improvement and no signs of that has been made from the coaching perspective until recently.
Heck, this team was pretty much in place prior to French taking the reigns. We all know the greetness of Duda, Clayton, and Blaz but what about the rest? What about the in your face hockey we were told by French we would see?
Yesterday afternoon, during the USA womens hockey game, the announcer talked about how in the mites and juniors you learn to play the puck and not the man (or woman) boy ain't that something our guys haven't been reminded of. Night after night, game after game, certain players do the opposite and where does that leave us? clue: SIN BIN.
Then many complain about the ref. It being his fault. (I'm no different have dome the same) But actually it's the coaches fault for not reinforcing the basics of the game that is learned at the peewee level of play.
Everyone on both boards talks about how we are going into the playoffs being the fourth seed. Well take off the glasses because you can't see thru the smoke colored lenses. We are slipping and slipping fast. With the loss last night, Tulsa is now a mere 5 points behind.
How does that play out? we face the eagles 4 more times, OKC 3 more, and Tulsa 5 more. Not to forget one against memphis and one against division leading Bossier.
Bright side of the remaining schedule: 3 games against lowly Ft. Worth, (of which 2 are on the road--and we all know how we struggle there), add in games against Amarillo, Austin, and Lubbock, (all at home) and that rounds out the season.
Very tough scedule left indeed 20 games left and only 9 of those at home. So fourth place doesn't look that good if you go by what the stats show and how we get outplayed and YES outcoached.
Am I ready to give up? Hell no!! Not today or anyday!! is there blame to be handed out? yes some. (on all levels throughout the org.) (players included) This late into the season no excuses for some of the lame, lackluster play we have all seen out of some.
Key to success starts from the one in charge and goes down thru the organization to the lowest level with everyone pulling his or her own weight and contributing all they can to reach the goal.
With the trade deadline nearing we better see the pot stirred up some and the tweaks made by French or if not then grab the clubs and make reservations because we will be out on the golf course while the eagles play Tulsa and the Bugs take it to OKC.
PS Give him time (French) You've got to be kidding me right? The season is drawing to a close, How much darn time is needed?
THAT IS ALL
GOOOOOOO THUNDER
