My father and 4 of his brothers served in WW II. My dad served in India, while his brothers all served in Europe. All made it home without a scratch, and none of them would ever bring up the war unless asked. This truly was "The Greatest Generation." The scene in "Private Ryan" that the Dr. mentioned brings a lump to my throat no matter how many times I see it. Soon they will all be gone. It is up to us, as parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents, to keep the memories alive and to honor those that allow us to do so.

stoney thanks. Sometimes we do need to be reminded of what our Parents and Grandparents sacrificed to keep us and the rest of the world free. There is an old saying that is used by soldiers:

In war all sacrifice some but some sacrifice all.

As a Viet Nam veteran I too salute all those that serve, and all those that have served.
RIP Dad. I'll see you in Heaven when I get there.
