it's hard to believe that a stone cold racist like him could stay in the senate for half a century. little doubt that racism is alive and well in america (as though fred, bb and 5for aren't proof enough)

it is true that where people decide to live may be a product of racism. i know such people. however, i don't need to speculate about you being a racist based on where you live. in fact, i don't even know where you live. i know you have posted blatantly racist comments here. many times.

I saw an interview with Strom's Daughter on TV right after all this came out. It was pretty impressive. She never spoke ill of the man, and whenever the interviewer asked what she felt were inappropiate questions, (like how much money the Senator gave her) she would not answere. I remember the TV guy rephrased that question about 4-5 times, yet she never answered or lost her composure.

You could sure tell she came from the time when asking people how much money they made was considered Bad Manners.

I wish they would have more things like that on TV.
People at their best, instead of their worst.

If you agree with him or not. You have to admire a guy who isn't afraid to stand up and say what he believes.

no, we don't. unless we want his mistakes to be repeated forever we have to admire people who stand up and say the right thing.

Actually, never a big fan of the Guy. I believe, Strom, just like you, JC, was mostly a product of his times. And when he couldn't come up with compelling arguements against the Civil Rights Bill, just like you JC, he resorted to the Fillibuster. Not actually having to make any points, just regurgitating things like "mp" and "Racist", and "Bigot" over and over and over.

And while I believe, JC, that you think you are nothing like Strom, (because I STAUNCHLY oppose Racism) you are every bit the Sheep he was. Just following the favorable Political Breeze of the day.

As far as his daughter goes...... despite being the disavowed, illigitimate daughter of the Country's leading Racist, she stood up, went to College and made something of herself. (A Teacher, I think) And on that TV interview, despite being burdened with "Centuries of Racism," she carried herself with alot more Dignity and Class than the interviewer.

You should be Ashamed of yourself for not recognizing that.

i've seen quite a few interviews with strom's daughter. she seems o.k., in that "i just don't want to get involved" way that some older black folks develop.
i don't see how you can expect anyone to believe your "i oppose racism" statement, considering all the blatantly racist comments you have made right here on this forum. i'll tell you what, as soon as you stop acting like a racist, talking like a racist and supporting other racists and their ideas, then that statement might have some credibility. until then, it is a non-starter.
