Hell Hath Frozen Over

If you know anything about Cox Cable in Wichita, you'd know that unless you have Digital Cable, you're not going to catch any NHL hockey on TV, (since the Avs went to Altitude) unless NBC has one of their once in a blue moon sunday games. Well, I guess Cox was snoozing tonight, since they actually played a hockey game that was supposed to be covered by FSN Midwest. Cox usually plays "The Best Damn Sport Show" repeats during the game time slots. But not tonight. I guess there is a God.

Hopefully Cox "looks" the other way, the rest of the season.

I'm sorry but I haven't lived in Wichita for several years and I know nothing about Cox Cable...are you not able to get the Centre Ice Channel?

Cox Cable is the big cable supplier both in Wichita and Topeka. I think BT hit it on the head...someone HAD to be away from the control board last Sunday, because we NEVER get a hockey game on cable thru Cox, unless you're a digital subscriber and buy a receiver, yada, yada, yada.

Not sure if Altitude or Versus is a part of Cox Digital sports packages.

Both Altitude and Versus are part of the digital package. The stupid excuse I've gotten from directly from Cox is they can't show it for unknown reasons. And yet last winter, when I went down to Tulsa, who Cox is their major cable provider, they layed multiple Stars games on FSN South. Didn't seem to have a problem showing those games. The local Cox is full of shit. They think if they can't show the Avs (because they are covered exclusively by Altitude), we don't want to watch hockey. They even changed their regional FSN affiliation, from FSN Rocky Mountain to FSN Midwest, after the Avs went to Altitude. Sure looks like they wanted to maintain some semblance of hockey coverage. And yet I haven't seen game one, until last wekend. I hoping for more mistakes on Cox's part.

In Topeka, Versus is part of the digital cable package, but Altitude is not. To get Altitude in Topeka anyway, you have to be on a dish network.
