Horn Chen Donates $11,000

With the money he's saved over the first six weeks of the season, Horn Chen, proud owner of the Wichita Thunder, has donated the money he has refused to pay to players to the City of Chapman, a town devastated by a tornado last summer. In lieu of putting a competitive team on the ice in front of the 2nd largest fan base in the league, Horn has chosen to save this money and put the hard earned funds of the loyal Thunder fans towards the people of Chapman. In a related fund raiser, the Thunder staff passed boots around in order to collect promises of people who vowed to finish their checks and make people remember that they're playing the Thunder on the road.

Meanwhile the OKC Blazers are 11-1-2, coached by a coach who the game has passed by. Fortunately, the team has chosen not to pay their players $2,000 less than the salary cap and the teams efforts reflect this.

The Thunder go into the Thanksgiving holiday 1-5-1 at home, a worse record than last year through 7 games, where the Thunder were 3-4 through 7 games at home. Apparently it can get worse than last year, as long as Horn Chen has control of the salary cap. Meanwhile, in spite of the fact the team is paying $2,000 less a week. Thunder ticket prices are the same as last year. Rumors of JT Lomurno swinging from the short hairs of a small, irrelevant Asian can not be confirmed.
