Ok lets get some thunder talk going .
I liked it in the beginning of the season .
The first few games we came out attacking . We hit them hard on the boards checking and more of a in your face style of hockey
We cleared the zone pretty well and we had a guy staying at home to help out the goalies. Once in awhile we still see that but we have become more lazy in our zone. we have some major defense issues at the moment.
we are not checking enough In my opinnion
we have a few guys checking but not enough of that going on.
we have forwards just walking right in and taking shots point blank on us and our defensemen are standing there all looking at each other
seems to me someone must be trying to do his job and cover for some other weak defensmen who isnt doing his job.

4 minute power plays and we only get a couple of shots on net . what is that?
Our passing has looked a little sloppy lately too
I dont mean to bitch and be negative here but we need some major improvement. There is no doubt we have becomre stale while other teams have made the changes to get better while we are standing still
we have a few guys not cutting it and we need to try and find some guys who can fix our problems
sometimes you have to make chenges you dont want top to get better. sometimes its a personality change . the chemistry was right at one point but things change over time and you have to bring in new blood to get that chemistry back on track.
the question is what do we do to get back on track?
what changes do we need to make? I think we need someone who wont take crap from anyone who can let the opponents know they aint going to take liberties with clayton and duda or anyone else on the team .
we have some good positives on this team we just need to fix a few issues and we are back on track
I hope French can find what we need to correct this ship.

I think other teams have figured out how to beat us,(bring a physical game). With a little luck, maybe we can get some muscle and get the scorers back on track, change out some of our defence and get right in the thick of things again.

We need an almost complete defensive realignment. Scoring isn't a problem, but checking is. If the third line gets more time together, I can see a three line scoring threat. But you can't if you're always looking over your shoulder, to see if your D can keep it in the zone. We need someone that's willing to stand in front of the goal during PPs. We don't honestly need an outright goon, just a couple guys willing to throw the body. Maybe a couple of Lieter clones. He's in Biochemistry, isn't he? Maybe he can work on this. We need the top line to score during even strength plays. And play some defense. When this team is on, it's almost unstoppable. The Friday night's first period showed that. But as what's been going on the last 15, or so, games, 60 min hockey is still NOT in this team's vocabulary. French needs to either start knocking some heads, or buying bus tickets.

They can never check enough for me. definitley need some work on the defense.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, only because I have not seen the team play this year but have listen to a few on the net. The D has been a problem for this team for the past 3-4 years. It starts out go and then go to hell fast. When we Had Runkle the rest a few years back, that was one of our best "D" team in awhile. What will it take to turn the team around, maybe a trade of one of our big guns to let them know every game is a try out for there spot?!?!?!
