How 'Bout them Stars

Did they screw the pooch against Phoenix or what? I'm a Stars fan, but what's with Modano and this lame shit about being tired? I also like Modano, but to me he hasn't been tearing it up in the public relations department. He didn't get any sympathy from me with that little tirade during the Olympics, and cutting out and leaving early sure looked kinda sorry, too. Spoiled brat or valid gripe?

Imagine that!!! The other Olympians backing him up. They are all a bunch of over paid, spoiled brats. What does any of that have to do with the WF newspaper? Your post is pretty damn stupid as well. I like Modano, hate the Stars, but all this whining by the US team is BS. The other teams had the same advantages and disadvantages and don't hear Sweden or Finland, etc etc crying about it.

Only other "Olympian" that I've seen/read backing up Modano was his Dallas teammate, Bill Guerin. It's a moot point now as the NHL has gone on record as withdrawing support to the Olympics after 2010. Yeah, the US team stunk up the ice. Enough said...

Stars can't seem to beat anyone in their division, so they SHOULD win tonite at home against the Avs. Laughing

The WF paper really didn't cover that all that much. What I'm saying is that it just didn't look real good for him to raise hell about USA hockey and then haul ass back home after he gets benched in the 3rd period of a game they lost. The other olympians may back him up, but they took their lumps and stayed around until everything was over. Modano is one of my favorite players, and always has been. I'm saying that it makes him look like a crybaby. I like Jeremy Roenig, also, but I'll be the 1st to say that he is a f***ing idiot for not retiring. Just because I like a player or team in no way obligates me to like everything or agree with everything they do. It's called independent thinking. Try it sometime.

I think Dallas will be fine. As long as they don't suffer any substantial injuries, they seem to have enough depth to keep them in good shape without needing to acquire anyone major before the trade deadline.

I ,too think the Stars will be OK. And good for MM to address his comments. He did not apologize, which I respect, because if he feels that way about something he should stick to it. Maybe any changes in the way things are handled could now be handled from the inside (asd they should be) instead of in the press.

That's because the athletes that play for those other countries still see it as an honour to play in the olympics and the chance to win a medal puts them in a "heroic" spotlight where they are from.

Too bad for the Stars they won't have the shoot outs in the playoffs. We will see how the Stars do in overtime vs. shoot outs. Bet it isn't as good, esp. when they are playing a good team.
