Umm, someone in his camp had to "know" him for him to talk at one of his rallies. They wouldn't let some whack job from off the street just come in and start ranting off racist views. And here's something the neocons keep forgetting. Just because Wright was Obama's pastor for so many years, doesn't mean he's always spouted these crazy views of his. Ever think it might have started once Obama was in the spot light, and now he can piggy back his whacked out views, because he knows he's going to get the press, with his relationship with Obama? There's alot of closet whackos that keep quiet for years until they're in the spotlight. Maybe Obama should have dumped him sooner, but you can't throw someone under the bus, for one stupid remark, possibly taken out of context, otherwise noone running for political office would have friends or family. I'm sure Wright's always had these "ideals", but never really spoke them out until Obama was a Presidential front runner. I just can't see how he thinks this will get his "friend" elected. Nothing like kicking someone
wright wasn't just his pastor. they were close friends for twenty years. I suppose it's possible that wright secretly hid his true feelings away while around obama, but I think it's a bit of a stretch. I personally would be a bit concerned voting for anyone who could consider someone a close friend and spiritual advisor for so many years and not have an inkling of what the guy was about. Not to mention that obama didn't denounce what wright had to say until he got into more trouble over it. In any event, this thread was about hypocrisy regarding romney's treatment and obama's treatment and, as I said, the difference is in the fact that the wright issue isn't about religion.
what is interesting is that the religious right has been making racist, homophobic, sexist, anti-semitic and anti-catholic comments while supporting both republicans and democrats and no one has ever called them to task for that. then, we get a black pastor who is a friend of obamas and who makes a few stupid remarks and all of a sudden it's big news.
i wonder, does john mccain believe:
1) that the catholic church is the "great whore, anti-christ church",
2) that the jewish people deserved their persecution,
3) that hurricane katrina was a punishment from god for new orleans' homosexual ways,
4) that adultry should be a crime,
5) that the christian religious right should riot and take up arms to spread its religion?
i doubt that mccain believes any of that, but he has accepted $ and endorsements from ministers who do.
where's the outrage on this stuff, 5for? oh, i forgot, your outrage is reserved for things that black people do. neeeeever miiind.

Actually, I didn't express outrage for anyone. I merely explained the difference between someone being grilled on his religion and someone catching flak for a close twenty year relationship with a specific person who has made various anti-American and anti-white comments.
Regarding McCain... While it's a bit of a different situation given the fact that these aren't the comments of his close, personal friends spanning two decades, he still should step up and publicly reject those statements if he hasn't already.
Pretty simple.

the question is: why do you make a big production out of obama's minister, but not mccain's religious supporters. i wonder, it couldn't be because obama and wright are black, could it?? or maybe it's just because obama is a dem. either way, it is hypocritical. not suprise there.

As far as Campaign Contributors go, I bet I could send Obama's Camp $100 with a note that said "Go back to Africa, Jigaboo." And they wouldn't send the money back.

yeah, macain's religion guys stopped short of goddamming "america" because of its racism. they only say that god is damming new orleans residents because of homosexuality, catholics because they haven't always treated the jews right, and................well, really, once you get right down to it, it seems they will damn any group that they think will get their followers to send them more $. sounds like mccain's religious people and obama's religious people are pretty much the same. and still the real question remains: why are you people so worked up about obama's guy, but not mccain's? the only basic difference i can see is the color of their skin.

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!
obama's campaign would probably keep bb's $ and chalk up the note to bb's love of racial parody. hell, mccain's guys called the catholic church the whore anti-christ of the world, said that the jews pretty much had the holocaust coming to them and all mccain did was say those remarks had been quoted "out of context".

What gets me is the constant grilling of Obama's "former" pastor (he pretty much denounced this week), and yet when the preacher at one of McCain's rallies went on and on, adnausium, about Obama's name, and made as racist of comments as he could get away with, and all McCain had to say is he didn't know him? How many times have you heard after some whack job goes and shoots up a school full of kids, that the poeple they lived next to, or their family, never saw this coming?
I haven't made a big production out of anything. I merely explained the difference in the situations of ROMNEY and obama. And then you started crying about McCain. You just like bitching and trying to hijack as many threads as you can.
the REAL question here isn't about obama, wright, romney, or mcain. as always, the real question is why you choose to complain and make issues out of every mistake a black person makes, but ignore the white folks who are doing the same things.
I'm done with you on this one. It's obvious that you're back to your old trolling.
that is a pretty good cop out. like i said, if i had a dollar for every time you boys say you are done with me i would be rich.
