K.C. Royals

Anybody think the Kansas City Royals will be better this year? I'm hoping so. We won 83 games in 2003 lets see if we can't do that again!

My brother is a Kansas City Royals fan, since the early 70's.

How long have you lived in Billings? We stayed at the KOA there back in '75 or '76. We went out for a bite to eat, they had a street there called Montana Avenue. There were probably 15 or 20 hookers lined up. I was with my wife and kids and got approached twice for crying out loud! Did they ever clean that shit up? I asked the waiter what the hell is going on and he just rolled his eyes. Do they still have that Montana Avenue? My wife's sister and her husband went through there a year or two later and it was the same damn thing. What kind of a place is this? What is wrong with you people?

Montana Avenue is still there -- the hookers however are not. They finally cracked down on that in the late 80's or early 90's. Yes, I have to agree is was definitely getting out of hand. I once met a guy up at the ski hill who was from Arizona and he was flabbergasted at how out in the open it was and that the cops just looked the other way.

2003, ah, I remeber that year. It seems like an oasis. And even as good as it seems they choked and faded down the stretch. They didnt even get in as a wild card. Granted, baseball is the toughtest league to make the playoffs in.

Until KC is willing to either spend some money, and bring in some talent, OR actually use some of the guys in their minor teams for more than one season, they'll remain the floor mat of the MLB. That one season, two years ago, was an aberation, as proven by the last two. Alot of the same guys. The same manager. And the usual ontcome for the Royals.

I Saw a "Women of Montana Avenue" photo spread in Hooter Honey Magazine once. You know with hookers like this, its no wonder the sheep herders up on Brokeback Mountain started keeping each other company.
