It's still there, as of right now.

As much as a rivalry we have, I do not want to see the Tornado leave for a year or forever.

If this ends up being true, it's horrible news.

jt, I hope there is a solution to keep them there or that it's just all a bad joke.

A truly fitting end to what was once the most storied franchise in Jr. A hockey just 2 or so years ago. Hate to say this, but most of us educated fans saw this coming a little less than a year ago. Talks of a rennovation, mass exodus of quality staff members, completely new team, decreased attendance and support, on and on and on... Why does this come as a shock? Remember people, Rome despite all its history and dominance, fell as well. The sad thing is, it didn't have to. This Tornado collapse into obscurity could have and should have been prevented.

Yes, but it is not on the home page and all links (except under team) are removed. I am guessing that they forgot about that last link which is why it is still there.

I wasn't ready for it last year. It hit really hard then. And two weeks before our wedding no less!

Lady...

Congratulations to you and your man...

Enjoy this time and prepare for one of the most important days of your life...

As we here in Topeka know, life goes on with or without hockey...

But hockey does make it a bit more bearable...

I'm sure the Tornado's hiatus will be the topic of your reception...

Keep thing in perspective and have a great wedding and honeymoon...

Congratulations again from the BRUINSFAN...

Thanks, Bruins fan, but guess I should have stated it better. My husband is Coach Murph from the Wildcats and he was let go from the TT last year two weeks before out wedding. We did have a great wedding and honeymoon and didn't think about any of it till we got back!

I just don't get it.

I realize that hockey at this level is about business first and player development second (NAHL teams are not charitible organizations, after all), but I can't for the life of me figure out why a franchise with the history and support that the TT have had over the years would take a year off. Despite struggling last year (seriously), they still had a bunch of fans game after game. Why throw that cash out the window? Especially after hearing from what appears to be a knowledgeable source that it would be the kiss of death. Totally mind boggling. Totally screws the kids aging out. Man... My sympathies, JT.[/b]

I hope that the players that planned on returning do some research on what would be best for their future. The ushl is out for a lot of their older players. Although it's a pay to play league I would suggest 2 teams for players to consider in the ejhl. The Monarchs or the Jr. Bruins. I'm sure there are parents or billets that browse this site so i'm just trying to help out. If a kid wants to play in the east he will be scouted heavily in this league.

Well, I'm not sure that these players will be eneligible for other NAHL teams, unless someone knows for sure that is the case....

Seems so wrong for these guys to be left out in the cold like this.

Will there be some sort of dispersal draft? Or just a "whoever gets them first gets to keep them" kind of deal?

Isn't that what happened with the Helena and Bozeman players a couple of years ago?

I can not believe this...

The players? Generally a draft. I hate to have to say this...but I was wondering WHY nothing out of San Angelo hit the news, now it makes sense. Can WF go at it alone in Texas? I certainly hope so, but it would not suprise me a bit if Brodsky pulled the plug for a year as well.

OR, he sees it as a chance to put a few more teams on the ice. Austin, San Angelo, and El Paso. Everybody hates Horn Chen, but the guy was smart, and his vision came through.

I do not see why the TT do not move the team to San Angelo (Twisters??) for the season, and build THAT up. Have the Nado return to Frisco (the Nado) the following year with a new franchise.

Once again, i would suggest to all tt players to explore their options, carefully.
