Well now that I am up, and have read the Fairbanks Daily News Miner. I see the story indeed was published. Yes Mark, Rob was my source, but I sure the hell was not going to expose him untill the Ice Dogs press release come out. He is a great friend I I am lucky to know such a man! Now pretty much what I said is published right there in black and white. What Ms. Lorang did is flat out wrong and unprofessional. Anybody who disagrees with me, I'd rather not aquaint myself with. So post if you will, even if the truth hurts!! Very Happy

And you STILL don't have the whole story. Before you come on here at least try to find out the entire story because this is going to blow up in his face.

You asshole Junior Gold. On the business side I understand the situation 100% But the fact is that the boys from Fairbanks, who have worked their asses off want to come home, and now they can't... You can bet your butt, they will also learn a great lesson from all of this, as they will be the professors of teaching one great lesson as well!!

They could have come home, but ask Proffitt why they aren't.

The BNSF folks may not like (or maybe they will), but if you're looking at Missouri, Kansas, and Texas... Well that's the Katy Division.

I think the facts are also going to show that Topeka did not prevent them from going home.

The boys from Topeka have also worked their asses off, and they earned the right to host 3 out of the 5 games in this series. That is all Topeka has fought for - the right to home ice advantage that the Topeka boys earned on the ice.

Proffit is going to spin this in an effor to motivate his guys. I undertand that. But don't believe for a second that he is not spinning it. If you don't believe me, look no further than his comments about how he "gave up" home ice to Wichita Falls. He knows that is not accurate. He did not "give up" anything - that series was played out exactly how the league rules required it to be played out.

Somebody please bring me up to speed:

Why is this guy complaining???

Topeka has the higher seed, and according to NAHL.com it goes 2 games in Topeka and then 3 games in AK.

Why is this guy complaining???

Topeka being the higher seed should get 3 games here and Fairbanks should get 2 at home. The Fairbanks coach turned down a very good offer from the Topeka team and now they're playing all 5 here.

Probably the exact same people that had input on the rule that says that in Round 2, the higher seed is guaranteed home ice advantage.

The schedule on NAHL.com is no longer correct. Topeka did not agree to losing the home ice advantage by playing 3 games in Fairbanks, so the schedule was changed. In the end, all 5 games are going to be in Topeka.

That's only a rule for the first round not the second. They don't get home ice advantage in the second round just because they are from Alaska. Ask Proffitt why they aren't playing games 4 & 5 in Fairbanks.

I certainly understand the Fairbanks fans' frustrations.

Here is my take on it. Topeka won the South, and as a result were guaranteed home ice by the NAHL. The league, in an effort to make things easier financially on Fairbanks, decided to strip Topeka of the home ice advantage it earned and scheduled three games in Fairbanks. Topeka objected to this, and the league relented - saying Topeka had the right to host 3 games. Topeka never refused to travel to Fairbanks for 2 games or demanded to host all 5 games. Topeka did demand to host 3 games, which is clearly their right.

Do the Fairbanks fans have a right to be upset? Sure they do. Do they have a right to be pissed off at the Topeka owner for sticking up for her players and deminding the league abide by its rules and give Topeka the home ice advantage in the second round it earned by winning the South? No, they don't.

mctopeka, are you serious, Do you just dont understand the business side of this at all? Back to fairbanks on short notice surly have cost a arm & leg, especiall when Alaska teams subsidize other teams. So what would have hapened if either team swept? The purchases tickets to Fairbanks would of been flushed right along with the revenue to purchase the tickets.

I for one am extremely proud of our owner Mary Magdalene Lorang. She stood up and did what was right by her Team, Coaches and Fans. Her team won the South Division and the Number 1 seeding in the playoffs. She would not let the League or the Fairbanks Organization bully her and take the home ice away from the Roadrunners. Home Ice they earned by the way.

As for your statement. If we would sweep then you wouldn't of had to worry about the Roadrunners tickets to Alaska. If you are so close to Proffitt you would know he already had tickets purchased for the Ice Dogs flight home leaving Saturday the 19th. He managed to turn those around didn't he? It's not Topekas fault Fairbanks is in Alaska. Topeka shouldn't have to give up home ice just because Fairbanks is in Alaska. Maybe Fairbanks and the other Alaska teams need to find a different league to play in closer to home if it is to much for them to handle financialy.
