Road Runners played the Dogs' grinding, defensive style and STILL won, despite Fairbanks running our goalie 3 or 4 times. Of course, we DID score 2 PPGs because of their mayhem on Merriam.

Hey Dumb Ass....I didn't ask if they were rooks or anything like that. I asked for the name of one single NAHL team that moves 10-15 guys onto D1 college hockey, or more specifically, gets their players D1 scholorships, whether they play college the next season or the season after.

The NAHL teams take three to four years to move 10-15 guys on to D1. The USHL teams do it EVERY YEAR.

No sense really in getting into the USHL is better than the NAHL thing again - I don't think anyone really disagrees with that.

That said, not all NAHL teams take 3-4 years to move 10-15 guys on to D1 schools.

Fairbanks has 10 players on its current roster that are committed to D1 schools for next season, plus 1 player that is committed for next season. (Wasn't that your initial question - name one team?) Fairbanks moved 7 players on to D1 last year. That is not counting alumni that are getting ready to go to D1 schools.

St. Louis has 7 D1 commitments for this year, and 1 for next year. St. Louis moved 8 on to D1 last year. Again, not counting alumni.

Overall, you are absolutely right that the USHL moves more players on to D1 than the NAHL. But your belief that no NAHL team can possibly move more than 3-4 guys on to D1 schools is simply not supported by the facts.

There is no argument that the USHL teams move a much higher number of kids on to D1 each year. But, keep in mind, that a lot of those kids already have their tickets to a D1 school punched before they step on USHL ice.

Here is a FACT:

From last years Santa Fe RoadRunners roster, 9 players have D-1 college deals, and another 4 have D-3. That's 13 players. In his first 3 seasons at the helm of the RoadRunners program, Scott Langer has moved 31 players to Division I, another 14 to Division III, and 2 who have elected to play pro. That's a pretty good track record. This years team is young, with 20 players eligible to return next year. Langers numbers will continue to grow as far as college successes go. Now in his fourth year, he has one new D-I commitment and more on the table.

Other programs do a great job of getting their players to the next level, but it's a considerable oversight to not include the RoadRunners in this discussion.

Yeah, I certainly did not mean to exclude Langer from the list of coaches that have done a great job moving people on. I just grabbed a couple of examples that I knew had a history of sending more players on than Jrhockeyfan seemed to believe was possible in the NAHL. I'm sure there are other coaches out there as well. The main point I was trying to make was that NAHL teams can move large numbers of players on to D1 schools.

I just want to add that any player who has an oppurtunity to play for either Langer or Proffitt should consider themselves lucky. Both are in Jr. hockey for the right reasons; putting a competitive team on the ice year in and year out plus moving their players on to the next level. I wish Bismarck would have promoted Langer to head coach after Becanic left.

That is your come back AHF?? No Stats, no names, nothing to prove or show the 10 to 15 players moved in one year by your coach?? I have not been on GR that long and even I know better than to take it to these guys with out some facts. Give me a break, PLEASE.

I agree that your coach is great at moving kids up and it great for this level due to that fact and hope that he continues to help talented kids get a chance.

yea that was my come back... i wasn't going waste my time showin his dumbass proof... the important people on here already know about proff and langer being good coaches to move players to greater levels... but i dont need to waste my time proving anything to that fuckin tard..

Read again Kev. I said it would take 3-4 years to move 10-15 guys from an NAHL team to D1 hockey, NOT that an NAHL team couldn't move 3-4 guys in a year.

Some NAHL teams can do that(Move 3-4 guys to D1 in a year). But few do more.

Read again jr. I said "your belief that no NAHL team can possibly move more than 3-4 on to D1 schools is simply not supported by the facts.

I was taking exception to you claim that 3-4 a year is the limit on what the NAHL can do. That is simply not the case.

You asked for 1 team in the NAHL that has ever moved 10 guys on to D1 schools in one year. Actually, you exact question was "Name one NAHL team that has ever moved 10-15 players on to D1 hockey and only took one year to do it." I gave it to you - Fairbanks, this year.

Does it take some NAHL teams 3-4 years to move 10-15 guys on to D1 programs? Yes. But not all of them.

Kinda important to remember... not every kid on every roster is both good enough and has the grades to go Division I. I think too much pressure gets put on coaches sometimes to get these guys into a good school. Some are just never gonna make it, no matter WHO the coach is. The players have a certain accountability in this as well. They need to maintain their grades and need to grow as players on the ice. I've seen many a player completely go in the tank when scouts are in the house, be it nerves, or trying to overplay. Whatever the case, is that the coaches fault?
