Puckette if you think people who like this movie are idiots you obviously do not understand the point of the movie or understand the word idiot. Our word idiot comes from an ancient greek word which was attached to someone who did not vote. Since you are not drawing a correlation between people who like this movie and their voting habits your usage is in correct.

What dictionary did you use. Most likely you used the sorry excuse for a dictionary known as Websters. Furthermore, you did not argue the origin of the word, which was what I was pointing to.
