Emery was on the complete opposite side of the net. Beautiful pass to Penner from Selänne. How did you get that picture on there? I tried it.

What's with Alfredsson's cheap crap in firing the puck at Niedermayer? It's things like that that keep me from wanting to see the Senators win.

I know. I lost respect for him. That's not cool.

Neidermayer hit him with a unneccessary elbow earlier when he put Alfredsson into the boards.

Yes, yes he was... good eye McT. Everyone can crucify Alfredsson for what he did, but one should also look at Neidermayer's elbow. More "goon-like" tactics from the Ducks. I guess since Pronger was gone someone had to step up and throw some elbows. Still, if Alfredsson did it on purpose then he has lost the respect of more than just the pundits on the GR boards.

I enjoyed Don Cherry's comments following the second period. I think NBC or Versus should hire him for next year.

There's a huge difference between an elbow thrown and a puck shot at someone point blank. The puck can do just a little more damage than a padded elbow. No class.

Pronger did not hit McAmmond with his elbow, McAmmond hit Pronger with his face. Laughing

I agree. I didn't say I condoned the puck shot. He did in fact loose my respect. There are better ways of getting even and the shot was not one of those.

True dat McT, I knew what you meant. It was a bad decision in the heat of battle for Alfredsson. A momentary lapse of self-discipline may be the defining moment of these Stanely Cup Finals.

Didn't the same lapse of self-discipline rear it's ugly head in the World Cup Finals taking the form of world-class striker Zinadine Zidane?

Professional athletes exhibiting unprofessional behavior.

Absolutely it did rear it's ugly head, AGAIN. They are all human but they do so under a much larger microscope.

We had it in NASCAR at yesterday's race at Dover.

Drivers as well as players shouldn't let their emotions put others in harm's way. Failure to exercise the degree of care considered reasonable under certain circumstances could result in injury to another party whether intentional or not. This conduct should not be tolerated in any sport at ANYTIME!

My big issue with that is that Zidane was actually punished for his actions. Alfredsson was out on the ice to start the third period.

The only thing consistent about the officiating in these Finals has been its inconsistency.

I think the league will deal with Alfredssen before the next game. Maybe make him sit the next game out. That would have been a very hard call for a referee to make, at that moment, if he didn't have the right angle.
