Rambling thoughts on Cheeks, Texarkana, Texas and the NAHL

Sorry to bust up this family reunion....but I gotta bitch about some things that are bothering me....and some that aren't......

Cheeks, that was a pretty damn chickenshit article on the Tornado website. How in the hell do you figure Texarkana "stole" one Saturday night? I guess since your the world famous CHEEKS, you can say shit like that. I have been pretty quiet about Texas folks lately, but when you have the world famous CHEEKS blasting refs on the Tornado website, and Friday night, you have Curtale calling the refs every name in the book ON THE AIR (including IDIOT), something needs to be said.....WHY IS THE NAHL LETTING THIS HAPPEN? In any other sports orginization, if a coach, player or team official blasts refs like these two goons have, something is usually done. A public apology, reprimands from the leagues, fines, suspensions....something. I think the whole damn orginization are CHICKENSHITS (of course, I am not including players in this generalization). But speaking of players, why do the refs let TRAIN complain every time the whistle blows?

Speaking of the Texarkana and Texas series, Texarkana leads 5 games to four, have outscored Texas 27 goals to 24, have scored 5 or more goals in a game 3 times to Texas' 1, have scored 3 Shorties to Texas' none, has a GAA of 2.67 to Texas' 3.00 and has 18 players with at least 1 point against Texas compared to Texas' 14 players with at least 1 point against Texarkana.

Texarkana also has 10 players with at least 10 points, compared to Texas' 7. Texarkana has 14 players with at least 5 points, compared to Texas' 12. Texarkana only has one active skater that has not scored at least one point on the season, compared to Texas' 3. Texarkana is 10-4-1 against South Division teams, compared to Texas' 8-5-1.

Oh, but I forgot, Texarkana stole a game against Texas Saturday night. Obviously, they did not out play them, out score them or shut them out.

Now is the time for SANTOS to grow some balls and do something about some of the folks in the Tornado Orginization.

Perhaps my contention that Mr. Vortex and Cheeks are indeed the same individual becomes somewhat easier to understand.

I can't believe anyone is surprised by Cheeks write-up. Cheeks is NOT world famous. He may be famous in his world consisting of only his mental images or the strip club he got the lap dance at but that is about it. I am just glad everyone finally figured out that Cheeks and Vortex are one and the same!

He is a loser! His article expresses the opinion of probably everyone in the Tornado organization. They all have that "better than you" attitude and for EVERY loss there is an excuse!

I hope either the Bandits or the Wildcats knock their cocky asses off their high horses this year.

I don't know who I'd say is the best announcer in the league, but cheeks is definitely NOT the best announcer in the league or the south. Good announcers don't scream into the microphone--no matter how excited they are. I've heard much better announcers from other teams in the south and throughout the league. If you are a TT fan, of course you'd like him, but other teams' fans have to listen to him and it's painful, whether the TT is winning or losing.

On the subject of Cheeks/Vortex being one and the same, some other interesting facts to consider.

Cheeks and Mr. Vortex both registered on the dearly departed "old" Glassrattler within three days of each other.

Earlier in the year, a Tornado fan asked Cheeks a question regarding a broadcast, and Mr. Vortex posted the answer. This post was quickly edited.


If one were to read the "press release" posted on the Tornado website, the similarities to posts by Mr. Vortex, both in content and style, become obvious.

Of course Cheeks is going to be blindly partial to the Tornado as he is employed by them...still doesn't account for his ignorance though

Why do you people care so much about cheeks? Get over yourselves and just talk about the game. If you dont like the articles he posts on the Tornado webpage then dont go to it. The webpage is for fans of the Texas Tornado to read and enjoy. Its not there for you to bash go to pointstreak or the NAHL website and look at the stats that should be everyones main concern not how high pitched or annoying you might find cheeks voice to be or that he and vortex are the same person or that he is world famous or not....who gives a rats ass? Get over yourselves and lets talk hockey not the bs that your creating in your bored little heads. If you dont want to listen to him put the volume on mute when you watch the internet broadcast or just dont listen to the broadcast at all. You have too much time on your hands to just sit here and remember when cheeks posted one thing or vortex posted another right after a broadcast and stuff like that...
Get over it and move on....
If you really have that much of a problem call Santos or the NAHL and make a complaint.
