THey're coming into Dallas tomorrow...

I was so surprised the Preds went in there and won back to back games in the Joe. That was awesome! Then they go to Minnesota and get bitch slapped by the Wild. Oh well.

Nothing burns me more then them claiming to be "Hockey Town"..and the old line-up of Smackov, Whackov, and Jackov.

They have alot more hockey history than Dallas even thought of. Dallas is not the center of the hockey universe. I think that would be with the Original Six teams.

Let it be said here first, if Detroit is not hockey town, it would have to go to the soo, the original hockey town.......Sorry all you South fans, but Dallas will never be hockey town..............

Trust me, I am not claiming Dallas is the "Center of the Hockey Universe". Just saying Detroit isn't. My vote would go to Edmonton or Montreal...even though they haven't done too much lately.

Yeah, I know that Dallas ain't the hockey capital of the universe. Hockey originated in Canada. Props to them for starting it up.

Turco FINALLY gets a "W" against Detroit with some help from the Captain and Lehtinen. Jokkinen continues to baffle goalies in shootouts.

According to a term search on ebay- all were found to be Detroit items. Other teams are not represented so apparently they or at least their fans peddling team merchandise, don't consider "hockeytown" to be a descriptive term that fits their team.

A search on google maps for "Hockeytown" likewise revealed that the Detroit Red Wings are the only team represented among the possibilities and that most locations associated with the term are grouped in the Detroit metropolitan area.

Then there's the whole copyright issue. Apparently according to the federal government via the U.S. Copyright office, Detroit, MI is indeed Hockeytown.

Based on this, I would have to say that the Detroit Red Wings can lay popular and legal claim to the term.

No thanks are necessary for my assistance in helping you understand the facts of the matter. For that burning sensation, I might recommend a number of topical ointments. If it occurs during urination however I would recommend consultation with your physician.

Detroit is the USA NHL's Hockeytown, but in my fair opinion if you asked me today, i'd tell you it'd be Edmonton, Montreal (even though they're having problems), or Toronto.


Don't get me wrong, I still love my Red Wings.
