Well, St. Louse, I wondered what you would be saying . . .
Your facility there in St. Louis is nice, but it is just another ice plex . . . and a lot closer to rodeo barns than Landon Arena in Topeka.
You call our boys divers, but the most amusing thing I noticed was those cheap pins you use to keep the net in place. Very handy to knock off it's moorings at the appropriate times, and great for helping out the save percentage. For crying out loud, slap shots hitting the the frame of the net on the sides noticeably moved the net. And these are slap shots that would not leave Al MacInnes envious.
But in honesty, your facility is not bad. It serves its purpose.
I will tell you, St. Louse, that I grew up watching hockey in the old Eastern Hockey League. a league that defines the term "old-time hockey." If you don't like our fans, you would be hiding under the timers bench in that era. And yet, like our bunch, they would be no threat to you. They were a spirited bunch, and our Topeka fans are much like them--enthusiastic, into the game, knowledgeable, loyal to the team. Wouldn't trade 'em for anything. And in fact, our people probably did something for your fans--they woke them up out of that Methodist Sunday School picnic they were attending. You could actually hear the St. Louis fans cheer . . .
Just like the fans who were in attendance this week, all we hear are excuses and complaints. Lets list the top 10 excuses we have heard already from the Topeker fans.
1. Nets came off
2. Rink was too big
3. They kick out all of our leading citizens for drunkeness
4. The clock guy is cheating
5. The refs were all st. louis refs
6. The commissioner was drunk
7. Too many games in too short of a time
8. Why can't we be stumbling drunk and attend the game?
9. Everyone in the NAHL cheats so St. Louis can win
10. The PA Announcer shouldn't be saying what he's saying
You were probably leading the way. If you think that your fans actions and vulgarity are appropriate, there in sums up why I call all of you Topekerins. You obviously feel your actions were OK. Thats fine, but leave it in the wheat fields of Kansas next year, we will be busy watching our Two Time Defending National Champion St. Louis Bandits!
Actually Genius, of the ten things you mention, the only beef I have is the first, a legitimate accusation and not trash talk. When the moorings are uncommonly loose in the end in which the home team defends twice, that is a legitimate problem.
All the other things you mention I don't give a damn about, because I either don't know any of them to be true or they just simply don't matter.
By the way, I also don't believe you talked to a scout unless it was the Boy, Girl, Cub, or Eagle variety. And if you did, my guess is that pause was him sizing you up and deciding to tell you exactly what you wanted to hear so he didn't have to deal with you. The key, in your quote, is the word "usually." He offered a qualifier you didn't pick up on. He told you what you wanted to here and didn't tell you what was really on his mind.
So, who on the dive team have D-1 deals? As far as the nets go, your whine is ridiculous. Again, your ignorance is apparent. Nets come off when they are bumped. End of story. All we get from Topeker is excuses. Go back to the wheat fields and leave us who understand the game alone.
Dude, you are a fucking "prick"....
Win with Class....shut the fuck up....
bp
I know, I know. The Topeker idiots here last week got my goat. Their ignorance has been shining all year. I am a prick for highlighting it. I think the MV group deserves accolades. I am not going to do the same for the drunken idiots from Topeker who were a #1 pain in the ass for all who were in attendance this past week. I love good fans, vocal fans, but these idiots acted like they were staring in the movie Deliverance.

I don't know what, if any connection, St. Louse has to hockey, but he comes across as the shining example of a newbie for whom a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Yes, you fool, I know that that nets are designed to give when a certain amount of pressure is applied to prevent injuries. I was around when nets did not move, and understand why they were changed.
But an average slap shot hitting the side frame and causing the net to move--sorry, it isn't supposed to give that easily.
If you're an official for St. Louis hockey in some way, God help them. You don't have clue.

One can only wonder how good the Bandits are going to be without Coop... Could we see another St Louis Sting kind of season again? Most likely. The crooks and Chase will be shopping this franchise to the highest five digit bidder in no time.

I think ST LOUIS fans have a right to be pompous. They are the dedending champions. If you don't like it, beat 'em.
And just where did your Tornado end up this year? If you ain't in the dance, don't step onto the floor.
Congrats to the Roadrunners on a great season! Congrats to St. Louis on your victory.

Hey dumbass, the post was already knocked off on that shot, the ref just didn't notice. Just another example of Topeker fan who doesn't know the difference between his ass and a hole in the wall. I really can't believe anyone could be so stupid. Oh well, you probably increase the average IQ in Topeker though.

I saw that guy at Nationals last week, wearing a Topeker RR jersey and screaming at the ref because for some stupid reason he thought the ref was from St. Louis. Glad you sent us a pic of yourself Mr. White...... explains a lot.

You know St. Louse, there was a gentleman named William Allen White who once described a group of people as the "moronic underworld" because they could be taught to read and write but not to think. You've convinced me that you are a charter member of that group, but they may have to reevaluate your reading skills.
Let's try this again--I am not talking about a player hitting the goal frame with his body. I am talking about slap shots fired at the goal, hit the frame on the side, and noticeably moving the net. Play was not stopped. The point is that usually the only player that could have come in contact with the net is the goalie, but I'm not saying he knocked it off its moorings. The puck--fired into the frame--is what is moving the goal. There is supposed to be some give in the moorings in case a player crashes into the net to reduce injuries. But a puck moving the net is an indication the equipment is faulty. It isn't supposed to give that easily.
But then, so much about the facility you brag about seems to have been afterthoughts. No one seemed to know the proper placement of penalty boxes or players benches. Did anyone connected with hockey assist with the design of the Iceplex? Or was it only intended to be a practice facility, a place for kids' leagues, beer leagues, and figure skating (in St. Louis, those last two may be the same.) If this place had been built 30-40 years ago I'd give it some slack, but this is still a relatively new facility.
Someone made a reference earlier that I needed to learn how to lose with dignity. These exchanges are not about the tournament or the games. My congratulations go out to Mahoning Valley and St. Louis for accomplishing what they did, although you'll have to cut me some slack if I don't sound more enthusiastic! Two very talented teams--the boys deserve a lot of credit!
No, this is about this putz named St. Louse, who brags about this great facility in St. Louis and chose to rundown other facilities, our arena in Topeka in particular. Well, I've seen your facility now, St. Louse, and its not even the best facility of its type that I've seen. You need to get around more St. Louse--and while you're at it, buy a copy of Hockey for Dummies.

Hey Blade, show me one time I have ever bragged about the facility in Chesterfield. That is just another example of your demented look on life. Trying to make up things to satisfy your warped view. The net was off before the shot hit it dumbass, the shot only moved it more. BFD! As far as the penalty box and benches, its the same virtually everywhere. I guess not in Topeker, whip te do, you got a penalty box on the other side of the ice! Blade, your ignorance keeps on shining through....continue to whine and moan, you really are fun to listen to.
Just remember, next year, Topekerins, stay in Topeker......unless somehow you learn how to behave like Men and Women and not Cavemen or a group from Deliverance.

Ah, St. Louse, you are just degenerating further and further . . . Here's a few things for you to mull over:
Rule 110, USA Hockey: "Each rink must be provided with benches or seats to beknown as the “PENALTY BENCH.” It is preferable to have separate penalty benches for each team to be separated from each other and substantially separated from either players’ bench. The penalty bench(es) must be situated in the Neutral Zone."
They must say "preferable" so they can get you guys in under the rules. If you really believe most rinks have the penalty boxes on the same side of the ice as the players benches, you don't get out of the Iceplex very much.
And while we're at it, here's a nugget from Rule 109, regarding players' benches: "Where physically possible, each players’ bench shall have two doors in the Neutral Zone and all doors opening to the playing surface shall be constructed so that they swing away from the ice surface."
You know, if you guys were bright enough to put the penalty box on the opposite side of the arena, you would be able to have both doors from the players' benches open into the neutral zone. But since Frank Lloyd Wrong designed this place, guess that couldn't have happened.
I'll be back, Louse--meanwhile why don't you go over to East St. Louis for some crack entertainment . . .

Oh, by the way, Louse, the net was not off the moorings when the puck hit it the time above, or the other times I observed it being pushed by Power Puck on either Friday or Saturday. Why don't you just admit you guys are cheap bastards that buy cheap equipment?

So in other words, I again am correct and you are again wrong. Most rinks in the country have their benches set up this way. I know you don't get out much, beyond the wheat fields but that is the way it is almost everywhere. So what. Bottom line is you continue to whine, whimper and moan about things just like all the rest of the Topeker inbreds who attended. I heard an extremely funny story today at an establishment near the rink. The guy waiting my table saw my son's Bandits T-shirt. Conversation started about last week and the people who used this particular place. He told me how he was stiffed by 20 something people with "roadrunners" garb on. Class act you guys are, aren't you? I know, you can't lump all Topekerins into one bucket because 20 of you stiffed this guy or because several were not allowed to enter the rink because of intoxication, or the ones who were removed from the rink for their behavior or the ones who constantly abused the staff at the rink, or the ones who attacked members of the live band, or the guy who used his horn as a weapon against a MV lady or the constant bitching by the Topekerins throughout the weekend.
Jeez, you think they would be happy because the NAHL handed them a trip to Nationals when they gave them a 5 game homestand against Fairbanks.
