Springfield v Blizzard Game 4
Yeah I didn't post a recap of game 3 but wow that was amazing...too bad the result and a really, really bad bounce of the boards put the Jr Blues into a must win game tonight, which I'm leaving for right now after this.
They had every friggin chance to win that one last night and Leets stood on his damn head. 1 for 13 on the PP? Hartman, who when he was on the ice looked to be a pretty damn good dman, was in the box 5 times. 22 scoring chances, 24 or 25 shots in the OT period. Bad penalty by Dion and an even worse bounce by the boards. And bam, must win.
Granted I think they had the fresher legs at the end there. The line and pairing on the ice when the goal scored hadn't seen much ice time in the OT period.
Anyone there see how the Keevan goal went in? I looked down trying to find my soda and somehow it went in as he fell.
Alexandria just might have been the fastest team we've seen all season. Too bad the humidity just killed the ice....it was horrible.
Also got to apologize for some of the douches ...well one douche actually....our 'Jay' wannabe for throwing the popcorn in the face of the Blizzard players as they came off the ice for the first intermission. Why he was only escorted out for a warning (and then allowed to return) I will never understand. Nothing like motivating the Blizzard players to show you up on the scoreboard -- which they did there at the end of the second. But the secruity guard justified letting him back in because apparently some of the Alexandria crowd was throwing beer. Yeah, eye for an eye, I guess? That's how this shit starts. Makes me wonder if that kind of "sportsmenship" is the reason our crowds are so small now a days.
On a side note, former Danville coach Tom Rudard was in attendance. Former coach of the year in 97 I believe. Right now he's the assistant with the USHL's Tri-City Storm, scouting the game. He's a good guy -- I remember hating his guts though back in the good Springy-D'Ville rivalry days. Hopefully he's here again tonight because I forgot to ask how he likes Matilla.
Anyways -- bring 'em out, bring 'em out -- the last home game of the season no matter what happens. Just hoping I have some reason to make the two hour trek to ST Louis next week.
