Ok, since we are dragging up old CHL Zamboni stories -

I have been trying to find some story about this forever, just to reassure myself that I did not make it up. Wasn't there an incident in the CHL where the Zamboni broke down, the guy that drove it got in a fight with someone else and left, and they had to get one of the visiting players to drive the Zamboni for the second intermission? I was thinking it was an Indy player that drove the Zamboni.

Does anyone remember that? Or did I really just make it up?

I think the driver left because he had not gotten paid in several weeks.

Then you would be thinking wrong.
Kevin (iceman) left to go have his jaw wired shut after Robbie (mean right hook) busted him in the chop for turning off the chiller and doing some shade tree wiring job on the Zamboni which made it go BOOM.

Kev; It was the last game Border City played. Tulsa was the team. Linesman trys a go at driving, and takes out the boards in the North left hand corner. Player for Tulsa comes out between the second and third, (flip flops, paints and jersey) and doctors the ice for us... He did a damn good job, better than I have seen since then.
If you get ahold of Bandit Backer, he should be able to give you the players name.
Damn I wish I would have got a picture of that one...

POTY candidate?

I always forget that people in Topeka regards Foster as the "Joseph Smith" of Topeka Hockey. Using his magic spectacles to read the scrolls, burying his face in his hat to peer through his "peep" stone. "A modern day alchemist!", they declare.

ps: Don't knock it til you try it! Wink

Actually, I just kind of thought his post was funny.

Humor is a good thing, don't knock it til you try it.

Not so much "Joseph Smith" maybe his little brother "Jimmy Smith", and not so much a "modern day Alchemist" maybe just a "modern day Pharmacist" though. And I think he uses a "Chrystal Ball" instead of a "peep" stone.
