Thunder/Ft Worth

Not a bad game. Not a great game. Just a game.

- Fairbarn sucks so bad. It is just incredible to me how bad this guy sucks. I cannot believe that he is still on this team.

- The best D-Man on the ice tonight was Valdy. He played a good game and trading him was one of the single worst trades in thunder history (See Schultz @ Voth trades as worse). I really enjoy watching him play.

- We still need a tough guy. Obviously. I just don't get the idea of keeping a guy like Cox on the roster when you could have someone to police the ice. Clayton had to stick up for himself tonight and we lost him for 7 min in the process. Could have been bad. Could have been real bad.

- Leibel is playing with as much heart as any player I have seen since Leiter. I have been nothing but impressed with him.

- In case you didn't get my point earlier, Fairbarn sucks real, real, real bad. Real bad.

I probably won't make the games on Tues or Thurs (I have already made Other plans) so I hope they have a good showing. OKC is going to set the tone and it will be interesting to see how we respond.

Comeon! He is on pace for like 75 points and is so great and... wait, sorry. I was having an out of poster experience. Carry on.

Can't say enough good things about Clayton. He started that last empty netter by using his body to block a shot out front. Lizotte had a great game too.

I wouldn't trade anybody right before Christmas, but Jan. 2 the Goldenboy would be on the trading block for a "REAL" tough guy to skate with Clayton and Duda.

I guess maybe I'm missing it but just exactly who are you talking about as "The Goldenboy". Like I said just curious.

I absolutely loved the third goal.....a couple of hits along the boards, some good "mucking" in the corner, the puck gets thrown to the middle, a shot is taken, and the rebound gets thrown into an open net. Great third line goal!! That is exactly the kind of thing that this team has been lacking. Maybe it was the quality of opponent, but this looked to me like the beginning of a recovery, for this team's recent struggles. That kind of goal, and the attitude and physical play that we saw last night is just what we needed.

While I still believe that we are a couple of players short of being a competetive championship team, I finally saw some guys playing like their jobs were on the line last night.....and that is good.

from what i saw, the first Ft. Worth Ggoal falls squarely on Tetrault's & Fairbarn's sholders. Fairbarn was screening the hell out of LaPlante & Tetrault was losing a physical battle(badly i might add) with the Brahma he was covering( & NO Daniel, you can't blame it on your skates). Fairbarn WAS out of position several times while we were in the offensive zone. that left us dangerously open for break aways. i say again, if Tetrault is going to be an attacking forward Fairbarn MUST be the stay at home & vice versa. our blue line defense started falling about after Fairbarn got his first couple goals. now he's "pinching" a little too much to get more & it's costing us dearly. just my humble My 2 Cents

Also when Fairweather had the chance to knock a guy on his ass, he'd just pansy out and try and pokecheck at the puck, only to get himself out of position. He won't attack the guy who has the puck, and lets them practically take their shot point blank. The guy may have scored a few, but he can't seem to defense a guy to save his job. While on the opposite spectrum, on Cox's "few" shifts, he'd over pursue the puck, and not play his position. Not to mention the guy couldn't stay on his skates to save his job either. If Lizotte could handle the frickin' puck, I would say he's the best d-man on the team. But each d-men has as many faults as the next. So I don't think there is one stand out D player on this team, right now.

pretty boring game to say the least. FAIRBARN IS HORRIBLY TERRIBLE!
he cant handle the puck, cant check, cant stay with a man and so on! Lizotte may not be the best puckhandler but the guy hussles his ass off, had a scrap and a couple real nice hip checks!

and for the article to say we are finally healthy and have a full strength team?? WTF?? cox & bain played how many shifts?? uhhhhhh......
whats the point in having them ride the pine! and why didnt french send bain, man or liebel out to have a go w/ someone for the guy pummeling clayton?? i would have done it the very next drop of the puck! MAKE A STATEMENT TO THE OTHER TEAM WE WILL NOT LET YOU GO AFTER OUR STARS!!

i say package fairbarn with cox &/ or bain and trade for a legit toughguy forward or a good dman..... those 3 guys are basically worthless!

How were the Brahmas?

How did the Brahmas play? Were they in the game or was it just the Thunder playing with them?

This new coach seems to be more aggressive and our team is attacking the net more and actually setting up plays. At least this is what we saw at home last week...

Any thoughts?

Drew

Ft. Worth actually played pretty hard. They set up some really nice chances, but then had a tendency to shoot wide. The very same thing our forwards seem to be doing lately.

And just who do you think we will get for three "worthless" players?? I don't disagree that the three guys you mentioned could be traded, but if the Thunder want a solid tough guy who can play good D, we will have to give up more than three guys nobody wants.... My 2 Cents

dont get me wrong i totally agree that you have to give up something in order to get something. i was just hoping we could smokescreen the trade to another team by covering up the "quality" of the players with "quantity"! Laughing
