Thunder sign Tough guy !!!

Teddy Bear Toss set for next Friday.

WICHITA, KS- For the sixth straight year, Thunder players will deliver Teddy Bears to hospitalized children this Monday afternoon.

Half the Thunder players will don their jerseys and Santa hats and deliver the bears to sick children in the pediatric ward at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital from 1:00-2:00 p.m., while the other half will visit children at Wesley Hospital from 2:00-3:00 p.m.

“Visiting the kids has become something we look forward to every year”, said Thunder team captain Jason Duda. “It just makes you appreciate friends and family during the holiday season a lot more.”

The Thunder players will try and brighten the holidays of over 50 children. For media questions, please contact Roz Hutchinson at St. Francis at 268-5645 or Helen Thomas at Wesley, at 962-2139.

On Friday, December 23rd versus the Oklahoma City Blazers, the Thunder will also hold their fourth annual Bank of the West Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are urged to bring a new teddy bear to the game and throw it on the ice when the Thunder scores their first goal of the game. This season, all fans who bring a teddy bear to the game will get a coupon good for buy one get one free tickets to the Thunder home games on Tuesday, December 27th and Thursday, December 29th.

Over the last three seasons, the Thunder have collected over 1800 bears. The Thunder would like to break the single game record of 714 teddy bears.

The 14-4-3 Thunder, return to action tonight in Oklahoma City, where they will face the Blazers at 7:35 PM. The game can be heard on 1240 AM KFH. The Thunder will face the Oilers tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. in Tulsa. That game can be heard on 98.7 FM KFH.

Thanks for getting my hopes up thunderstruck! Really appreciate that!

This is a great cause everyone, just think, this might be one of the last gifts these poor kids receive. I went to the mall last year and bought some big teddy bears, litter the ice next Friday with teddy bears!!!

Has anyone told the Blazer's they are supposed to be there for a game on that night? It's not showing on our schedule.

For a guy thats 6'3, the fact that he weighs only 180 lbs worries me a little. It looks like hes only been over 250 PIMS once in his entire career. He really seems more like a reactor and what the Thunder really need is an instigator. The fans on his junior teams message board are saying he really only wins around half his fights and that is just not up to Thunder standards. This signing does not impress me whatsoever! Evil or Very Mad

The Thunders new tough guy. Laughing

But in all seriousness that is a great idea about the Teddy Bears. I bet that makes the kids day to have a Thunder player visit them in the hospital. It sure would mine if I were a kid in a hospital.
