Thunder/Tulsa....bus ticket time

What an embarassing loss tonight. I was sitting in my seat wondering where that team from the begining of the season was? As you all know I am/maybe/was a big French supporter. I like his style of play but it is getting to a point the past couple of games that I am begining to wonder whether or not the appropriate changes are going to be made.

I saw our two "tough" guys walking around the concourse tonight...a couple of guys who couldn't win more than 10% of their fights this year and it boggles my mind that toughness is still an issue..year after f@cking year. I guess we all need to buckle up for the same old "There is no toughness out there" talk that we hear every year as teams all through out minor league hockey sign guys left and right. How many years are we going to live this same scenario before someone wises up?

As for the game, we got outplayed in a bad way. This may be due to the fact that nobody is playing to keep their job right now. We don't appear to be interested in making changes. Who knows. Freaking embarassing to have to sit through a pile of shit game like that.

Who would I get rid of? I am glad you asked....

Fairbarn - Maybe trade bait, maybe just a "don't let the door hit you" sort of scenario. This guy has yet to realize that there is a body attached to that stick of his that could help him play D. He flat out sucks. It blows my mind that they keep lining him up with our first line....he makes Dickson look like freaking Scott Stevens. He is our worst +/- Dman and he doesn't look like he is improving any. See ya.

Bain - Why in the hell would we keep this guy around? How about we kick his ass to the curb and get another guy who sucks balls but can win a fight? I like the fact that he is willing and all but his job is to police. He isn't doing that. In the regular world when you can't do your job you get fired. Whats the problem?

Hanson - See Fairbarn minus the trade bait scenario

Kuntz - Yeah, this guy is way more valuable to this team than a legit tough guy or serious board pounding grinder.... Seriously though, our biggest guy??? Why again did we cut Migdal for him?

McMillan - I know, I know, there is probably an argument for him to stay but there is a bigger argument to get a legit D-Man in his place. Guy just doesn't have it. It sucks but he doesn't know how to play the man, he doesn't know how to move the puck, he just doesn't know...The jury has been out for me on him up to this point. After tonight the jury has read the verdict and left the building.

Cox - We should have cut him before he got up from the ice after getting his face broke.

This is just a start. There are some bubble players out there. Coughlan (Skates so hard but never finishes anything besides elbows I guess) and maybe McLean. I just can't stand him. If you could get a body out of him in a trade I would not hesitate to pull the trigger. P.S. Ryan, when Clayton is eating the glove attached to a guy named Joly, do something besides work on the strategy on how you are going to find your lame, run off at the mouth ass in the box for diving. Leibel can be excused of his diving because he plays with whats that word....heart.

I have seen many games where we sat on a lead. I can't remember the last game we sat on a deficit.

We are just sitting around in our own tears crying about how there are no players out there and if this keeps up we are going to be sitting out of the playoffs. Quit sitting on your ass and pull the trigger on someone. If for nothing else to make the rest of the team play to keep their job.

Hats off to Clayton and Duda tonight. Guys were about the only ones out there playing to win. Clayton, sorry about the beating you were getting from Joly. Oh well, we will get him next game!

P.S. If the news about our soon to be enforcer is true you can count me into the come once every couple of games schedule once again. It would be retarded not to go after that. Do you think that guy or freaking Kuntz is going to sell more tickets for you?

WOW, I thought I was going to be reading about a road trip or something. Good insight about tonights game and hopefully it gets corrected soon. I wonder who this new enforcer is? Lieble seems to be one of those guys that always brings it all to the table every game.

I am in agreement with most of your points. The few things I don't think that werer mentioned. I like Lardner but the guy can only do basically one thing and thats drive the net....I have seen him seldom pass the puck, when we had other players open. He is a dam decdent hockey player, but sometimes struggles with the whole team concept. As far as Liebel goes, biggest heart on the team. he needs to tone down his mouth a bit. You can't get away with some comments until you have been in theis league for more then a year and a half. If he can quite down for the rest of the season, I don't think its long till the Tunder will have their own version of a Wildfong type player. hate Wildfong or not he is productive and can't get under all the teams skins. I agree the time to make moves is now...before we fall to far behind the Eagles. Second best is not ok. I say package Lardner and Fairbarn...get what you can for em and move on.

Wow, second most points in the league, we must really suck. The guys are going through a "bad" stretch. This team is good and they have proven that up till a week or so ago. A bad stretch does not justify getting rid of half your players. They have won and will win again.

Bringing in new players would just make the timing we DO have dissapear and take that much longer to get it back. They will get it going again, it's way to early to jump ship. It's amazing when we win that most people are all smiles and happy but when we go through a bad stretch it's time for a whole new team.Way to hang in there.

Its one thing to have a bad stretch and be competitive...we havent been that lately. We keep playing like this and that second most points in the league is gonna turn into 3rd or fourth. No one is saying dump half the team. Last I checked our roster is 18..and changing out 3 or 4 players is not gonna change the chemestry that much. Lets face it...other teams are learning how to play the thunder and the thunder isn't responding. The one thing I will say about Thunder fans, or at least on this board is they don't look at the Thunder thru rose colored glasses. So take off the glasses and take a good look...we have been pathetic the last 3 games. Thats the bottom line. WInners work hard, quiters complain....who was complaining more tonight?

I can't even tell you if I have ever left a game early, but I don't think so....So tonight I couldn't stand it when the coach pulled LaPlante and they scored that was enough for me. We were outta there, sorry to miss our tuff guy (Tyler) fight again, oh and opps Tulsa scored again. Shit we SUCKED TONIGHT! How embarssing Bag Head

Thank gawd I wasn't drinking tonight or my cell phone would of been up the REF's ASS. What a JERKOFF! and a few players I am sick of talking about them being gone, if the coach is going to keep everybody and not trade HE BETTER FIGURE OUT HOW TO NOT LOSE LIKE WE DID TONIGHT!

But I'll be there tomorrow night and hopefully have a different outcome.

Come on guys....don't revert back to NB's just because we suffered our first regulation home loss of the season. Don't be those fair weathered fans that Bossier has......

We will be fine, I totally agree with you thunderfan about the tough guy issue, this is the first year in a long time that I don't remember having a dude that can hang with anyone out there. You all have to keep in mind that French didn't have much time to bring in some of his type of players. He is doing a pretty damn good job at what he has to deal with....

One thing is for sure, Tulsa matches up very well with us for some reason. Thank goodness they won't be in the playoffs! And yes, they can feel free to use that as bulleton board materia, or however the hell you spell it....no worries here.

I am not going back on the team. I think we have a lot of positives on the ice for us. I do think there are some changes that could be made to make ourselves a better team.

Toughness and grit are our two weekest points right now. French wants to play an attack the puck, in your face, take no crap sort of game but he doesn't have the personel to do it. That is when changes become very important. Tonight was an example of when shit hits the fan and when maybe it is time to evaluate the team. Colorado sure doesn't seem to be getting any worse...

They match up well because they consistently have 2-3 players around the net, screening and waiting for rebounds. My concern is that we have become enamored with the shot from the point, with no consistent efforts at effectively screening the opposition’s goalie. Not jumping ship, just requesting a better strategy to get our guys higher percentage shots more often.

Gdogg....
No one is saying fu*k this team..lets turn in our season tickets. Just voicing some concerns. I personally don't view the bugs fans as fair weather fans but more as fans that wear rose colored glasses..." our team is great".."Our Coach is an angel"..ect. Thunder fans merly won't settle for crap hockey play. The last three games thats what we have seen. I think you misjudge or misread...a little... what people our saying. Just my 2 cents

Where did he say he was going to jump ship? He just saw problems and expressed his opinions.

You know, other teams have been switching out players trying to figure things out and get it together. They seem to be getting it together.

Changes sometimes need to be made and usually, better early than late.

I was going to go off, but TF stole the hypothectical "thunder". Rolling Eyes One thing I've got to say is I've seen two bums downtown fight over a dollar bill with more intensity. Hey guys (directed at the team), do you think you can spread out alittle, and quit making it easy for one d-man to take three of you out of a play? Or maybe quit tripping over each other, everytime you actually have an open shot on goal? It's called "teamwork", and I haven't seen much over the last couple of week's games. I think Frenchy needed to pull a Herb Brooks tonight. Again!! Again!!! AGAIN!!!!! Mad

One thing that Fort Worth has going for it coming into our barn tommorow night is that they don't appear to have one single tough guy to cary the load. They seem to have a roster full of guys who are willing if the time is right.

And Konrad Brand will be here!!!! Hell yeah.

TF4Life - Very well put.

I think we need to fine tune our team (like every single team is doing except for us) a bit also, we have the best first line in hockey and they usally find a way to win. But we also have 4 or five guys that Migdal could replace and we would probally be better off.

Damn fine post TF!

Thunder were owned in every aspect of the game. And don't thank Duda for the two goals he got because from our view point in the stands that first one was scored by Tulsa not Duda.

Sad night when Clayton has to eat leather all night from Jolly and nothing is done about it.

Player of the game--Liebel. Night after night this guy is everywhere out there trying to make things happen.

Every team out there is making changes except us. Why do we continue to get the same song and dance routine that there is no one out these that is legit? Always seems to be one excuse after another or so it seems.

Visa problems, can't skate, out of shape, problem child, etc. etc. Who cares if someone is a problem in the locker room? If they have that much intensity off the ice---wouldn't that be a plus on the ice?

Last night was definately the worse game to date. Doesn't matter if was first loss in regulation, at leat play every shift with heart and desire. I can handle losses has long has the guys show the desire to at least try to win, but Duda and Clayton can't carry the whole damn team for the whole damn game.

Going thru the motions isn't good enough

Our style of play and what we looked like last night can be sumned up in one word:

Has netty would say: ASSMONKEYS

i agree completly. With an attacking defenseman like Tetrault, you have to have a "stay at home" defenseman like Fairbarn. each line has one. Lizzotte attacks & McMillian stays home. Hanson does both. the only one i am not impressed with so far is Kuntz. but in his defense, Franch has been making him play forward & not defense which is his normal spot. when Bain & Weibe get back on active we will see how he is as a defenseman
