Let me start off with saying, I was unable to even listen to the game, much less be there. I am just replying to what I have read here on this thread.
That said, wffan, does it not take two to start an altercation? Granted, I am not saying that it would surprise me that the Tornado player started it, but you have to remember that this is a very heated rivalry from the "old days" (two years ago) when the Roadrunners were known as the Calvary and played at North Richland Hills, TX. Therefore, there is plenty of bad blood in this series between the two teams despite the distance between them.
My point is that these things usually start with one player saying something to the other and the nonsense, especially at the end of the game, ensues because of what was said. While it can make for a very interesting last game of the series, if you were not there, and not actually involved in the altercation, but just listening to something you heard on a webcast, how can you be sure it was initiated by the Tornado player? Again, I am NOT saying it would surprise me, but to blame it on the Tornado player without being part of the discussion itself seems to be a bit foolish to me.
I really am not trying to start anything here, and have tried to stay out of the whole WF fans vs TT fans garbage as we have never had any problems with WF fans (in our rink or yours), and do not believe any of you guys have had any issues with my family at the games. But, I still want to know how even Cheeks would know who actually started it if he was not even on the ice, and how you could automatically, without being at the game accuse one player (from either team) of starting the altercation?

Why do people call it a "3Peat"? This is really dumb. Think about it for a second. If you win a championship, what is it called? That's right, just a "win", or a "title" or a "crown" or whatever it is you are playing for. Now let's just say you win whatever it is twice in a row. What do you call it then? Yup, a "repeat" - take a bow, you're good. Now... this whole "3peat" baloney just doesn't fit in to normal logic. Let's skip this "3Peat" hogwash just for a sec... Let's say you win it 4 times in a row. WOW! Four times... What do you call it now? A "4Peat"? Nope. A "Quattro-Peat"? Nah, that ain't it either. You could call it "4 in-a-row", or "4-Time Defending Champ", maybe a "4-Time Winner" or something to that effect. Even further, let's examine Mr. Armstrong. This guys wins the Tour de France 7 times --- in a row! So, do we call his seven in a row a "7Peat" or Sept-Peat"? Nah... you can't do it. Say this out loud, "Way to go Lance on your 7Peat!". Dumb, huh? Yeah, it is. What you need to say is that he is the 7-Time Tour de France winner/champion. That works and it is also logical.
Okay, let's go back, shall we, to this "3Peat" anomaly. Why are people calling it that? 'Cuz it rhymes? Well that is just plain stupid and needs to be re-thought. So I say we scrap all this "3Peat" nonsense, because that is all it really is, nonsense. Let's call it the "Trifecta" or "The Triple" or "3-Time"; but not "3Peat". It's just bad.
