Alright. Time to place those BEST hotels and GREAT eateries post for the greater WF area for somebody making a roadtrip to see the games. PMs are ok but prefer the posts here so if Wrencher (as an example) likes a place and nobody else does then I can avoid it etc, etc.

Where do visiting teams stay? Other nice hotels?

In the down town area, Mcbrides Land and Cattle Co. is probably the best. El chicos isn't too far from the rink, and its pretty good. The Holiday Inn is about 2 blocks from the KYC. There's the Econo lodge but I'd stay there only if I absolutely had to.

safe travels.

The Holiday Inn is now the Remington and less than a mile from the KYC.

About 10 miles away, but around the mall and a lot of restaurants is Hawthorn Suites, Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites.

I really wouldn't stay anywhere north of the Remington.

Yeah, definitely McBrides. Easy to get to-- 287 North to MPEC exit(observe the exit speed limit. Trust Me). Move to the left lane after you exit. Turn left on Scott . For those coming in early, Branding Iron BBQ is a must for lunch. Same directions, except turn right on Scott. Stay on Scott till you cross Kell and there you are. Expect to wait a little bit for lunch. It's worth it. Anybody want info on other eatin' place PM me and I'll be glad to help.

The Remington and Holiday Inn are the best. I prefer the Remington. Both are nice. Further North along I-44 there is a Hampton Inn, a La Quinta, Motel 6 and Comfort Inn.

BTW Flag Guy-- I and my family stayed in that Econolodge for 4 months after our house burned and had no real complaints. But that was 3 years ago, so I can't say about now.

Anyway, feel free to PM me about any of this. I'll be glad to help.

No offense, but we stayed at Econo when we came to the first game last fall. Must have changed because my daughter and I were a little leary of walking on the carpet barefooted. It was not terrible but had seen better days.

The fan charter bus coming from Texarkana this weekend is staying at the Comfort Inn on Maurine, FYI.

There are alot of hotels down by the mall which is where we will stay next time we go. Lots of eateries within short distance & fairly easy to get to arena.

McBrides Land and Cattle IS really good, but a bit pricey. El Gordos is better than ElChicos and right next to McBrides. Pump Jack on Broad is good for desserts (pie!). The food is good too, but not always consistent. I'll second the Branding Iron. Ruby Tequilas (I think) is really NOT good.

I'll second the endorsement of the Pumpjack Diner. Unique atmosphere and the meal was very good. I had a slice of coconut cream pie for dessert that darn near covered the plate...awesome!

hope yall sell nachos, chilidogs, popcorn, pizza and Dr Peppers at the KYC. Cap'n gets the munchies while watching Hockey.

its fun enough just to watch him put away the food and watch the little kids cry when they sell outta food.

I seen Cap'n use a metal folding chair for a table one time. When the game was over, there wasnt nothin but claw marks on the seat.

Come on now PUF, you know I bring most of my on stuff. The chair had marks on it cause I used it to whack a kid trying to get a puck that landed near me.

I always sit on the side of the penalty box....lower section. There's really not a bad seat in the house.....depends if you like to "get into it" or just observe... lol I like to get into it and if I'm in the end zone it feels like I'm not part of it. That's just me.

Have a safe trip and see ya this weekend. Should be a good 2-game series.

Just a sidenote....I thought Cory did very well in net last night considering the offense didn't help him out. I hadn't looked up the SOG and I don't remember them but I am thinking it was 36 or 37 or more for RR and less than 20 for the Cats. Hard to win a game with no offense or lack thereof. Saying that... I think we'll do well tonight and tomorrow.

Cap'n... I spoke with BP yesterday. Are you making the trip with him? Hope to see you there. Stop up to the top of section 28 where The Beast and I will be doing the radio broadcast. Hope all the Bandit fans have a safe and enjoyable trip down here. I know there are many of us eager to put a face to name as well as seeing some other Bandit fans once again.
