Where would wimp King be if he didn't have the goon squad backing him up last year and this year. At least Cardwell will fight you face to face, not come in from the side or behind like King. Cardwell is a good fighter for his size. If he had been able to get his arm out, the fight would have been a different story, but like Hippy said, thats the way it goes. And for the record, it wasn't "a one punch knockdown". Cardwell was trying to get his arm out and got pushed to the ice. The punch didn't even connect. I don't think Haines is a one punch knockout artist. |
I am just saying that he doesn't seem to be a very good fighter. On our team, I would equate to Train, he hits hard and won't back down but I don't think I have ever seen him break even in a fight. On the subject of King, I don't think I have ever seen him back down. Besides, every team needs someone like him at every level of hockey. Th little ankle-biting, small dog that just agitates the other team trying to get their better players to lose their cool and take them out of their game.

I don't remember seeing Cardwell whine to the official at every stoppage of play.
Odds are, it was a lucky shot from Casey Haines the other night that sent Cardwell to the ice. Haines is a small guy, but checks as hard as anyone in the league. However, I wouldn't call him a fighter. I personally heard Casey tell someone after the game that he didn't want to fight, but cardwell asked him if he wanted to go, so he said, "Sure", but really didn't want to. I did find it humorous though that Haines was laughing the whole time that he and Cardwell were circling, during the fight, and all the way to the penalty box.
