But the BIGGEST thing that concerns me is if Brodsky will keep the team in WF much longer. His travel budget has increased threefold. Unless he makes the switch to WSHL or CHL, I hate to see what he may think on that regard. Worse case scenario is move the team....I hope not!!

Just where do you get your information? If you are paying them, you need to fire them. JHC!

I agree with you . But unless something has happened I don't know about . to move the cats is not Brodsky call . He is only a small share in the ownership ,of the Cats. Earlier this year at the Golf tournament , he made a comment to me and a few others that really turn me off on him . It was all I could do to just walk away , as the others did as well.

Lloyd, it IS Brodsky call. He is majority owner while Davoult is minority owner. I thought you knew that already!!!

If you noticed she was being pretty sociable too.

See WCR the past couple days you haven't been getting bashed too bad because you've actually been talking hockey. as long as you keep doing this then things will calm down. Granted there will always be disagreements but if you just stick to the hockey talk at least everybody will respect you.

you dont think I already knew that???

Back to Cats talk. I feel that Brodsky is kinda in a bind here or in near future. Hippy mentioned the Nado's were supposed to help the Cats out with the travel costs. I did not hear anything about that, nor if the Nado is obligated to do that. If anyone have any good info on that, feel free to add it here.

I also do not know the kind of contract Brodsky has with KYC(City of WF) but the Cats are here to stay this season for sure. Next season will be really iffy, especially if the Nado does not return next year. With the closure of St. Gobain, Cats attendance will drop slightly. How will that affect the Cats organization remains to be seen.

Dont get me wrong, I LOVE THE CATS!!! But WF citizens has a VERY VERY poor track record when it comes to supporting a non-high school team. If Cats attendance drop too much on consistent basis, look for Brodsky to move the team up north somewhere. Thats probably the worse case scenario since the Nado is on hiatus and could very well NOT return next year.

gawd, I hope it turns the best for the Cats this year. Thats why Jarboe and Graveline and Cats NEEDS to step it up this year. And I truly hope the best of attendance on Sept 13th vs Sooners.

I just questioned where you are getting you info from b/c from what I read, it's pretty iffy. And, I''m not bashing either.

And from some other stuff you've posted at other threads, you might want to double check...........

Perhaps, but they were NEVER affiliated with the NHL Stars............. Crack Up

The Dallas Stars will help any local hockey organization. Hicks (Stars owner) also owns and operates many rinks in the area and understands that more healthy youth organizations playing hockey is good for his rinks and attendance at Stars games. The affiliation was never formal or financial, just willing to be supportive in general of hockey in the area. The Stars offices are in Frisco and the team practices on the other rink which led many people to assume a formal business arrangement which didn't exist.

Great info!!! No wonder ice hockey is blooming in DFW area. Stars are a class bunch!!!

Kinda makes it hard for Nado to come back from their hiatus though.

You better bet that if the Nado does come back next year, there will be a Cats and Nado rivalry like you never seen before.

Lets get ready for those candy-assed Sooners!!!

Simplemindedman, they are NOT affiliated with the NHL Stars. Can I make it any more simpler than that?!!! JHC!

The "ding ding ding" had nothing to do with that. Please READ and COMPREHEND before you post. Sarcasm is completely lost on you.

Here are my thoughts on attendance and the cats. First i am not a business owner nor have i ever been. so my ideas my not be the best but IMHO... We currently have the third highest attendance in the NAHL. Could it be better, yes. Here is what you do. Every game take 1000 tickets to the Base and give them to the students, provide city busses if the base busses dont want to run. Give 1000 tickets to the school district/boys clubs/ymca/anyplace there might be underprivd kids. Thats 2000 tickets given away. If you get 50% turn out thats an additional 1000 people in the stands buying cokes and popcorn. Plus you still have plenty of room for the paying customer. I realize some who might pay will try to get the free tickets, I still think you come out ahead. Plus anytime you get 3000 people in the KYC having the time of their life yelling and screaming, others will want to join in. I think most of those who pay for tickets right now will continue to do so, but we have such a large untapped source that just needs to be looked at.

I had heard (only heard this from one person at tryout camp, so if anyone else can verify it, that would be great) that the Tornado are supposed to pay the Cats $2000 per month for extra travel expenses because of their sudden departure for the season. Now I'm not sure if this is supposed to be paid at the start of the season in one lump sum, the end of the season in one lump sum, or monthly payments, but that's at least the agreement. Comes down to about $16,000 for the whole season and playoffs.

From what I heard and understand the Tornado Organization has to keep paying their league dues and if I am not mistaken they also have to pay a little extra for being dormant. I think that may be what's going to help offset the extra travel costs of the Wildcats. That's why I personally think the Tornado will be back in the Southern Division next season. Why pay all that money if you're just going to fold up? I could be wrong, but what the hell, I've been wrong before and will be again I'm sure.

The TT are paying some money to WF every month to offset travel costs. Not a huge amount but some. That was part of the hiatus agreement w/ the league. Plus what else Mct said....

I just read that McColgan is at the Kelowna Rockets main camp, guess that tells you something
