Worst Official of The Year Award Nominations

Now that the season is over pick two officials who you think did a poor job this season and I will make a poll with the top vote getters Monday.

Dreger and Berry would top my list.

Lacina was alright for the most part, but more than a bit inconsistent at times.

Hands down Dreger and after that I don't care.

Who else gives a team a 9 minute power play and makes other such stupid calls?

Granted he refed Game 4 of Alexandria and Springfield fairly well. There were a couple margainal calls in that game against the Blizzard. And I still don't understand penalties in OT.

So I guess I'd give the other nominee to Mike McCreary even if his stupid call helped us knock off North Iowa in that game 3.

Also who was the linesman in Game 5 of Springfield-Alexandria that apparently had his eye on something else and not the lines that night?

Also anyone know what happened to an official from quite a few years ago named Burt? God he use to take the cake when it came to sucking. Either that or he just hated Springfield....and with Tony behind the bench, it wouldn't have surprised me.

Dan Dreger...the best of the worst...and he likes it that way!

Binda and Mayer...could be right up there...

McCreary and Greene...both so-so...sometimes good sometimes bad...

Didn't Frank Zappa used to sing a song about him?

My vote goes to Mayer and Sweeney. Mayer was by far the worst we had come up here.

Yeah, Dreger. No matter how the game ended, you just had the feeling at 3:00 the afternoon of the game, Dreger had answered a want ad that said, "Hockey referee. No experience necessary."

Dreger, hands down. Second, the Referee who hurried the game to get to the local Hooters emporium. Can't remember his name because I was so stunned to hear "hurry it up", I didn't pay much attention after that. Very Happy

Ez : you have a right to your opion , thats what makes this country great . I couldn't agree or disagree with you I was not there. but its seams like there were some problems , but thats to be expected with the nahl . from what I've seen.

I understand. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad folks don't care for what I wrote, they have their opinion also.

Didn't mean to steer this away from the much needed Dreger bashing, just making a slight point.

Now, jtornado will bash me for doing that. Cool

Any of you guys posting actually ever put on a sweater and grabbed a whistle? Doubtful.....maybe you should try it before you start bashing referee's and linesmen. Afterall what game would you have to watch without them?

Are you one? Are you being called out in this thread? This is a league full of guys working hard for their team and trying to get colleges to see them as an asset for their team. Bad refs make this real hard. Bad refs call bad penalties or no penalties. Sometimes loose control of games or try to control everything. The good refs know there roll, know the game and know how to call them. If the NAHL wants to be a top place to help the players develop they also need good refs that know how to call a game. All this thread is doing is asking who is bad. The interesting thing is only a few names have been mentioned so it means that several do know how to do what they are to be doing.
